The Ilkley Moor Alien One of the most unique accountsof alien abduction comes to usfrom the Ilkley Moor inYorkshire, England. The witness

and subject of this case is aformer oliceman named !hili" encer. " encer claims that inthe early morning of #ecember $,$%&', he was taken aboard anunidentified flying craft, and after his release managed to sna a

icture of one of the alien beings.

The Ilkley Moor is (ery much asyou would icture it. )eminiscentof the setting of the moors of

*asker(ille +all in onan #oyle-s +ound of the *asker(illes. it is an eerie lace. It has been saidthat The Ilkley Moor can scare you to death during daylight, and at night it-s e(en worse.

It is a lace of mystery. There is the "wastika stone/ boulders etched with strange markings/ the*adger "tone/ and the Twel(e 0 ostles stone circle.

Many times the only li(ing creatures on the moor are the shee . Ilkley has other legends too, likethe ho(ering lights at night, which bring occasional re orts of 12Os. There are strange, swirlinglights that are filtered through the fog and seem to ha(e a mind of their own. !ossibly some of themysterious sights can be attributed to the not too distant Menwith +ill Military *ase, or the nearby3eeds *radford 0ir ort.

The acti(ities of these two facilities will not, howe(er, e4 lain what ha ened to " encer. Therewere also stories of strange creatures that roam across the moor at times.

0fter four years of being a oliceman in another city, " encer had mo(ed his wife and child to theYorkshire area to be closer to her family. +e was walking across the moor on this #ecembermorning heading for his father5in5law-s house and on the way was ho ing to get some hotogra hsof the strange light tricks of the moor. To be able to get the images he desired he was using a high0"0 rated film to com ensate for the oor light in the area.

1nfortunately, the icture that he took was somewhat blurred, but there is no doubt that the creaturein the hoto is a one of a kind being which basically resembled the small grays.

0long with his camera, " encer also took a com ass to na(igate through the fog before sufficientdaylight shone through the moor. 0s he was searching for some hoto angles, suddenly he caughtthe sight of a strange looking being in the slo es ahead of him. +e aimed and sna ed a icture ofthe creature which seemed to be gesturing for him to stay away.

It then ran away. " encer gathered his wits and took off in ursuit of the being. Today he says hedoesn-t know why. It was just an im ulse reaction. +e arri(ed just in time to get a glim se of aflying craft with a domed to rise u from the moor and disa ear into the sky. 0to the dome wasa whitish square. +e was not able to get a hotogra h of the object.

There was silence now.6hen he saw nothing elseof the being or its craft, he

began to walk to thenearest (illage. This walktook about 78 minutes,

and during this time, acou le of things becamea arent to him. 2irst ofall, his com ass now

" encer was confused now. #id he see what he thought he saw9

To answer this burning question, he headed by bus to the nearest town with instant filmde(elo ment. "ure enough, he had a icture of the creature: It looked to be about ; foot tall, andhad a blue5green tint to its skin. +e knew he had something of im ortance, or at least, he thought hedid. +e found the ro er channels to contact 12O in(estigator !eter +ough.

+ough knew what he was hearing was a too good to be true case, and it worried him, but aftermeeting " encer, he was con(inced that he was a man of integrity and was not seeking fame orfortune for his icture. There was no reason to not belie(e what " encer had told him. +ough begana thorough in(estigation. The film with the alien icture would be the first thing to undergo

    rofessional scrutiny.

The alien icture was first looked at by a wildlife hotogra hy e4 ert. The object in the image wasnot an animal of any known kind. It could not be determined either way if the figure was animate or static. 0 reconstruction of the original site did establish the alien-s height at or near ; and one halffeet.
