Another important development in our Essential brand is the creation of our Essential Premier Showroom Network, details of this new initiative are on pages 12-13. We report on the changes to our sales operation and how we are working

BETTE LAUNCHES BARELY VISIBLE ANTI-SLIP —

THE BUZZ | The latest marketplace news

BETTE has launched a new anti-slip option for its enamelled steel shower floors which provides a high level of slip resistance and safety but is barely visible, so does not detract from the elegant enamelled steel surface.

New BETTEAntislip Pro meets a high safety standard of R10 and is created using a special enamel layer which has a rough surface that is virtually undetectable to the touch or the eye. It increases showering safety over the entire surface, while being very comfortable to walk on and almost invisible.

The new BETTEAntislip Pro can be applied to BETTE’s glossy white shower areas, and also to most of the matt shades in the BETTEFloor Colour World, which are chosen by over 40% of BETTE customers for their shower floors.

The new surface is extremely durable, easy to clean and hygienic and will remain in its original state, even after years of use.

Contour Hygeniq 21, Sanura Hygeniq 21 and the new Profile Hygeniq 21 urinals now incorporate AquanilTM the latest waterless technology.

The innovative AquanilTM waterless cartridge brings a fresh dimension to washrooms by offering absolute hygiene while using absolutely no water. As well as being more

environmentally friendly – compare it to a typical urinal which uses up to 87,000 litres of water per year, it is invaluable where water supply is a problem and standard

installation would prove impractical or impossible.

Offering better hygiene and simpler maintenance the AquanilTM cartridge consists of a valve with non-return feature and a fragrance ring which also acts as a life cycle

indicator so maintenance teams can easily see when the cartridge is nearing the end of its life and needs replacing, which is simply done using the AquanilTM service key.

Installing wall-hung sanitaryware is made simple with the versatile Geberit Duofix Kappa 82cm WC frame. Offering a wealth of

benefits, the Geberit Duofix Kappa frame is a popular option due to the flexibility it offers installers and end users, with its adjustable

frame height making it suitable for any application.

Although the frame sits at a minimum height of 82cm – the installation can be boxed up to the preferred shelf height, while the Duofix frame has flexibility in the feet too. This enables the

height of the installation to be raised by up to 200mm, ensuring that the WC sits at the most comfortable height for the user.

Further enhancing the user experience and the design credentials of the bathroom, when the WC is being used the lid has complete clearance of the flush plate to make

activation easier. The versatility of the Geberit Duofix Kappa 82cm WC frame continues through to the finishing

touches, due to its compatibility with a wide range of stylish flush plates.

“It’s been a great year working with BETTE” says Premium Brand Sales Director Rob St. Barbe “There is an increasing awareness of the brand amongst the public and retailers who like to offer something special, and sales reflect this growing popularity. We have therefore recently added to our stocked range of trays, baths and basins to meet increasing consumer demand for upper market products. BETTE also offer a specials service for factory made products to individual requirements. And we offer BETTE the quality service expected for quality products, with our next day deliveries, large and increased stockholding and sales team specialists on the BETTE brand. Our price Guide has also been simplified on BETTE with components listed in line with customer preferences and everything listed being a stock item.”

While German enamelled steel specialist, BETTE, is renowned for its award-winning, expertly designed and high quality baths, the company also offers a huge range of shower trays, flush-to-floor shower floors and washbasins. These too are made from durable enamelled steel and, like the baths, come with a 30 year warranty. They have also won their share of awards too.

FLUSH-TO-FLOOR—BETTE flush-to-floor shower areas come in a huge range of sizes and colours and are also now available with a barely visible anti-slip surface and integral BETTEUpstand, for no silicone where the shower floor meets the wall tiles.

The award-winning BETTEFloor is an enamelled steel, flush to floor shower area that is like one large tile, which is permanently water-proof, easy to clean, hygienic and, with its sharp angular corners, fits perfectly into the floor tiling pattern. With the BETTEFloor Side option, it is available with the waste outlet to the side, rather than in the centre, for a large comfortable standing area.

As a continuous surface, without the joints of a tiled area, BETTEFloor and BETTEFloor

NO SILICONE BETWEEN SHOWER FLOOR AND TILES—The BETTEUpstand option is an integral enamelled steel ‘upstand’ of the BETTEFloor Side edge which does away with the need for silicone where the shower floor meets the tiles, making mouldy and cracked silicone joints a thing of the past. The 35 mm high upturn of the steel shower floor edge is over-tiled by 10 mm during installation, ensuring a hygienic, durable and easy to clean edge to the wall.

AWARD-WINNING RANGE—BETTE has recently launched the BETTELux Shape; a new concept in baths, washbasins and accessories, which has already won six awards. The BETTELux Shape takes its inspiration from ‘inside/outside’ constructions in modern architecture and places the soft and flowing shape of the BETTELux bath and washbasin in an open steel frame. The baths and washbasins are enamelled on both the inside and the outside, in either white or black, allowing the eye to focus on the shape, which is visible from all sides and is accentuated with a choice of colours in the steel frame. The range also includes complementary furniture and accessories.

QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS —BETTE enamelled steel baths, shower floor and washbasins are highly durable, come with a 30 year warranty and are also 100% recyclable. The purpose of the "Race to Dubai" was to communicate and engage with the whole customer base. It gave us the opportunity to get closer to our customers and be more aware of their precise needs – a fact our customers have certainly appreciated. They liked the excitement of the race concept within which customers have been individually treated, with achievable targets. So we decided to repeat the idea this year.

Our new “Race to Mauritius” will continue to develop regular dialogue with customers, to promote new and innovative products from our core brand partners and to keep customers informed at all times.

3. 2015 saw a considerable investment in people at Ideal Bathrooms. What benefits are you expecting as a result?

A: The company objective has always been to recruit, retain and develop people within the business. Means of communication have changed rapidly and we have faced up to these challenges with continuing investment in people, especially in IT and marketing. Our aim is to be easy to do business with and this applies equally to suppliers and customers so that Ideal Bathrooms is everyone’s distributor of choice. As part of our goal for greater customer engagement, we have invested in additional sales staff and training programmes. We aim for continual improvement to ensure

we always provide the best service in the industry, to the benefit of our customers.

4. Ideal Bathrooms has always been extremely strong in sanitaryware with a top brand portfolio. We see you have invested in a much increased shower enclosure offering recently. Does this signify a change of focus?

A: No this isn't a change of focus. The investment in the showering sector sits perfectly in our strategy of providing total bathroom solutions. The market is moving towards wet rooms and showers as people improve their homes and it is important that Ideal Bathrooms offers a full solution for all major bathroom categories. The current focus is on showers, and furniture as well, as these trends continue to grow.

At the same time the sanitaryware and bathing area is still vitally important to us and will be equally supported. We aim to provide solutions for customers and to be the one-stop-shop for all our valued customers.

I would also like to add my thanks for the fantastic support we received from our customers in 2015 which helped to make it a record trading year for Ideal Bathrooms. We have our plans in place for 2016 and will continue to work hard to keep our businesses growing together.

1. What are your predictions for 2016 for the industry?

A: Despite everything we read in the press, 2015 proved not to be as buoyant a market as we were invited to believe. 2015 was a tough year for all businesses, especially retail. Although it started well, with considerable hope and improved construction figures, it gradually fell away during the year.

2016 will be another tough year - the economic climate across Europe remains volatile with a potential knock-on effect on the UK. However Ideal Bathrooms has a robust business plan to help customers during what we expect to be a relatively flat market, doing all we can to help our customers to develop their businesses. As I repeatedly say, it is by helping you to grow that we help ourselves to grow too.

2. Last year’s "Race to Dubai" was enthusiastically welcomed by customers and worked well for you. What are the goals for your new "Race to Mauritius" ?

A: Indeed our "Race to Dubai" did work very well, achieving terrific engagement from our customer base. The programme for the electronic delivery was well received with opening rates of over 80% compared with a typical average of 3%.

CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE AWARD 2015

"Our staff are our biggest asset and there are many unsung heroes in the company."

EXCELLENCE RECOGNISED—Our annual awards are Ideal Bathrooms opportunity to officially recognise the outstanding contributions of employees. It is our people who make us, and we appreciate each and every person who plays their part in our success. Each year we acknowledge those who have made an extra special contribution. Entries are received from other members of staff for two main awards, Employee of the Year and Customer Service Excellence. These nominations are for those who they consider to have gone over and above in their roles over the past year. This makes the awards even more valued as they reflect the opinions of peers rather than senior management alone.

Top left to bottom right: Employee of the Year, Hayley Hopkins with Kim Kirby-Earnshaw and John Bagshaw. Customer Service Excellence Award winner Louise Ingham. Commended Employees of the Year, Lesley Winter

and Paul Novell. Commended Customer Service Excellence, Kathy Tompkins.

This year’s Employee of the Year Award was won by Hayley Hopkins. Hayley joined Ideal Bathrooms in 2001 as a Sales Coordinator before moving into the Marketing Department where she is now Senior Marketing Executive.

Her plaudits are exceptional. “Hayley’s commitment to her role in the company is impeccable. She always ensures the job gets done no matter how many hours she has to put in and it’s all done without hesitation. In fact she’s a credit to Ideal Bathrooms and definitely a worthy winner of the award.”

Because of the exceptional number of nominations received for both of these awards this year, it was decided to add a highly commended category in addition to the actual winner.

Highly commended under the Employee of the Year category were Lesley Winter - Sales Support Executive, and Paul Novell – Transport Supervisor. Lesley joined the company in January 2001 and was recognised for her incredible unwavering support for the sales team and to new starters to the business. Paul Novell is Transport Supervisor and joined Ideal Bathrooms in February 2001 and was recognised for his support towards us achieving our delivery and service promise to our customers.

The Customer Service Excellence winner award went to Customer Service Assistant, Louise Ingham, who joined Ideal Bathrooms in August 2000 as a Sales Coordinator. Louise won the Customer Service Excellence Award in 2011 which is a testament to her continued excellence in her job.

Highly commended in the customer service excellence category was Kathy Tompkins who joined the company as a Sales Estimator in May 2000 and has had a number of roles in the

sales environment. She is now Senior Contracts Administrator.

Operations Director Kim Kirby-Earnshaw adds “These five winners deserve our appreciation for the fantastic job they have done on behalf of the company throughout the year. There is a great spirit in the company revolving around

prioritising our customers’ needs and our winners are truly deserving of this recognition. There are, of course, many others throughout the company who came close to winning as they fulfil their roles with commitment day after day. Our staff are our biggest asset and there are many unsung heroes in the company.”

NEW FOR 2016

Page 18: The Ideal Bathroom Magazine 18

ON THE FRONT LINE—The sales force is our frontline in helping you, our customers, in a hands-on way with your businesses. Throughout the last 12 months we have gradually been making changes within our sales operation to further improve our customer service for the future.

Reorganising areas, bringing in new and additional people, creating North and South areas under Regional Sales Managers, improving communications with customers – these have all been measures to make interaction between Ideal Bathrooms and customers easier, quicker and more efficient.

Now these changes have been completed, The Ideal Bathroom interviewed Stephen Hooley and Chris Dodds as the North and South Regional Sales Managers for their views on how these changes are helping to improve customer support.

0800 634 2600www.idealbathrooms.com

WHAT’S NEW | The latest news from Ideal Bathrooms

How have your teams actually changed over the year?CD David Garner moved from Stephen’s region to cover North London for the Southern team, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience from his time covering the North West.

Lucy Russell brought different skill sets from her FMCG background and is now well established on her patch.

Ryan Evans is an excellent new member of the team with a roving remit for the South East.

SH And we have Mark Cunningham replacing David Garner in the North West area from his previous role as a Showroom Manager for a Merseyside retailer/merchant.

Stuart Tilling joined us with previous distribution experience to cover the West Midlands and we also have Emma Smithers as a new appointment as Development ASM for the North West and Midlands.

What benefits have these changes brought into play?

CD As a company we are all committed to customer service and to continual improvement. At the beginning of the year, we felt there would be benefits to our customers and ourselves by increasing our level of customer engagement in both regularity of visits and focused meetings. The extra team member supports the ASMs enabling us to widen and increase our customer interaction on a consistent basis.

SH The new team settled in really well and adopted the Ideal Bathrooms’ philosophy of prioritising customers. They have developed strong relationships and the increased customer contact has been so well received by customers who appreciate the support we give them in their businesses and in helping them identify potential areas for growth. We are steadily building on relationships with new and existing customers. In short, it’s working!

"It’s about spending time working together in a positive way to create an individual plan for each and every customer’s business goals." Stephen Hooley, Northern Regional Sales Manager

IDEAL BATHROOMS' SALES TEAM

Page 19: The Ideal Bathroom Magazine 18

WHAT’S NEW | The latest news from Ideal Bathrooms

Has the remit of the Area Sales Managers changed then?SH The whole aim of the changes has been to see more customers, more often and this is being successfully achieved. Customer engagement is about much more than social visits of course. It is important for our customers to feel they benefit from these calls so we ensure there is a meaningful agenda for each and every visit. It’s about spending time working together in a positive way to create an individual plan for each and every customer’s business goals.

CD Absolutely – each call focuses on the needs of the specific retailer, their own area, clientele, new products relevant to their customers etc. Every ASM is equipped with an iPad with details of every customer. This ensures they can help customers to select products for their displays, to be up to date with industry issues and Ideal Bathrooms activities to help them in the marketplace and, importantly, to instantly report back to the Head Office team on their needs.

SH Good point Chris. The iPads certainly help tremendously because we have information readily to hand so we can plan growth delivery for customers and embed this into the system for immediate review at each customer visit. It’s a structured approach which helps us to work together with our customers to keep them advised on all aspects from product development from our suppliers and the opportunities these offer to our next day deliveries of these top industry brands.

Is there anything you have had to change or would like to for the future?SH Not really. It’s a case of more of the same – seeing more customers more often helps everyone in the chain. As a result our team have a deeper personal commitment and involvement in the entirety of the customers’ business. This has got to be good for all parties. Knowledge is King, as they say.

CD It’s working well – things happen more quickly and more positively. And customers like what we are doing with them. We will continue to build relationships for the future where we can see where we can be even more helpful to them and them to us. Let’s keep up the good work!

Do requirements vary between North and South or region to region in your area and how?SH Certainly do. And it’s not just North v South, it’s even down to different parts of the same town. That’s the main reason behind the restructure of the sales team. It’s to base our service on each individual customer’s needs, to have the intimate knowledge needed to help customers achieve their goals. We have the right people in the right places to do this.

CD What sells will always vary by region, town, even within the same housing stock. Some houses suit certain styles better, some products are better suited to the owner’s lifestyle. Customers prefer their own look

and retailers have different needs and expectations from us too. Every customer should be treated individually, whether end consumer or retailer, and the service must satisfy the customer.

This year has been a positive step forward. Our teams have changed and grown and we are more in tune with our customers than ever. 2015 was a year of change, 2016 will be a year of building further on customer relationships so we can all prosper together.

If you would like a change of career and have the necessary experience and credentials, we are always interested to hear from you. Send your CV to Jo Wiggins, [email protected]

We firmly believe it’s our service that sets us apart and makes us your distributor of choice. At Ideal we constantly review our performance levels and seek out ways of continually improving the customer experience, through the sales office, warehouses and transport, every step of the way is measured, so you can always count on us to deliver.

IT’S ALL ABOUT SERVICE–

WHAT’S NEW | The latest news from Ideal Bathrooms

During 2015 we achieved a 98% on time in full (OTIF) delivery record, ensuring you could confidently meet your promises to your customers. And this was achieved even against a 15% increase in pieces picked and a 12% increase in delivery drops.

“It was a good year for our service support” says Ideal Bathrooms' Operations Director Kim Kirby-Earnshaw “These are big numbers so maintaining our superb OTIF performance was the highlight of the year for me because success on the delivery front is what Ideal Bathrooms is all about. Of course this also means that all the rest of the operation has to be working efficiently too. In particular, this means holding large stocks of products with accurate stock control and purchasing at all four distribution centres and having a fifty strong vehicle fleet to achieve next day delivery to 99% of the UK. We are also introducing new technology to further improve efficiency.”

Kim is referring here to the hand-held terminals which bring speed and efficiency to the whole warehousing process as stock movement is electronically processed and therefore provides better visibility of stock movement and instantly updates stock data. In fact, stock availability now averages between two to three hours, which is key to enabling us to take orders for next day delivery up to 5pm.

Now that the HHT system is fully integrated into the warehouse, the next stage will be to roll out the electronic systems to our drivers which will reduce paperwork for customers, improve tracking of orders, provide automatic proof of delivery and live feeds to the sales office for instant reaction whenever required. This system will, in due course, mean we can advise delivery slots

and, in some cases, actual ETA based on information held in the system on customer opening times.

We continue to invest in all aspects of our logistic support across the board. We have expanded our delivery fleet which has allowed us to increase delivery dates to some of the more remote/less populated

parts of the country. This investment means the South West is now serviced 5 days per week. We have also significantly increased stock-holding at all of our warehouses and have introduced “Always in Stock” lines – which again means extra stock-holding on fast moving lines.

A key change at Hayes and Wakefield has been the recent extension of working hours by creating new shift patterns for our highly experienced workforce so that all sites (except Glasgow) now operate on a 24 hour work cycle.

During 2016 the transport fleet will continue its rolling three year update programme with 20 new vehicles, all featuring environmental eco stop/start function and route planning

software scheduled for early delivery. The new vehicles will feature a new livery style, reflecting the new Ideal Bathrooms brand image rolled out during 2015 and will now come in the four colours of the new brand identity.

“But before any of these developments come into their own, it all starts with the sales office” Kim points out. “2015 saw the centralised sales office call centre handle a 10% increase in calls, with 99% of calls answered in under seven seconds – quite an achievement. They are the all important link between orders received and delivered. Their enthusiasm and efficiency make all the difference. The more efficiently they work – and they certainly do – the better the warehouse and transport can do their

part and uphold our reputation for excellent service.”

Another big benefit for customers is our extended opening hours, with the sales office open from 7.30am to 5.30pm every week day plus Saturday mornings from 9.00am – 12.00pm

“Every change we introduce is designed to improve our service to our customers. You are our top priority because we succeed through you. So our commitment to you is never to rest on our laurels but to continue to lead the way in service excellence….that’s ideal” concludes Kim.

A WORLDOF BRANDSREADY ANDWAITING

"Showrooms are our shop window and every business owner is the MD with differing desires and business models. Trying to meet everyone’s needs is a great challenge and privilege." Gary Matthews, Director, Retail Channel

Gary Matthews is Director, Retail Channel for Ideal Standard. He is responsible for activities with independent retail showrooms and distribution and plays a key role in bringing Ideal Standard’s products to the market through Ideal Bathrooms. In this role he is heavily involved in developing Ideal Standard’s overall business strategy, in particular representing the needs of the retailer.

What has Ideal Standard been up to recently?A new CEO, Torsten Tuerling, has joined the business. Launching new products in 2015 like Tonic II. Winning innovation awards for our new Aquablade® technology and our new Dea portfolio – all just a walk in the proverbial park at Ideal Standard.

What product do you love the most from the Ideal Standard collection?Concept Space is comprehensive for small bathrooms and Archimodule is amazing behind-the-wall technology as well as Easybox – brilliant showering solutions for performance and installation.

How do you feel the industry has changed in the last 10 years? The internet is playing a key role in consumer shopping habits as we all appreciate – still interesting whatever your perspective. Other than that, relationships remain as important as ever. I do appreciate the amount of process to run a good business but we need to be careful it does not take over.

Why is Ideal Bathrooms your favourite distributor?Lovely rounded question! If I remove myself from impartiality, Ideal Bathrooms are a very robust organisation. There is a joint focus on stock equals sales, a shared belief in customer orientated marketing initiatives and they are very interested in the customer experience. All these areas are important to Ideal Standard so we work extremely closely together to deliver a positive joint outcome – a business plan that all businesses should share.

Gary Matthews with Steve Gillespie, Kim Kirby-Earnshaw, Danielle Lillis and John Bagshaw on top of the O2.

GARY MATTHEWS—

BUSINESS

What made you join Ideal Standard?I had just exited a brief role at Merlyn supporting their forward direction. I had spent most of my career in bathrooms, following a period at Grohe UK, with many useful contacts and in depth industry knowledge – an industry pal put me in touch with Ideal Standard who needed somebody to drive their retail and distribution business – the biggest challenge yet and with the biggest industry organisation – I was definitely up for it.

How long have you worked for Ideal Standard?I finished 7 years at the end of 2015. A great roller coaster of a ride with more grey hair but still loving it.

What has been your most challenging role for Ideal Standard? The one I am in. Showrooms are our shop window and every business owner is the MD with differing desires and business models. Trying to meet everyone’s needs is a great challenge and privilege.

What business achievements are you personally proudest of? Probably growing the Retail / DIY / Merchant business in every organisation I have worked for – not too shabby. I have secured a series of ‘Supplier of the Year’ awards with different customers.

What goals have you set for yourself for 2016?Ensure the major investments we have made in the Retail channel for Ideal Standard since 2014 start to increase the business by double digits – confident because we believe we have been listening to our customers and now implementing solutions they have asked for.

Who has had the biggest influence on your career so far?Couple of people. Paul Harman (still at Mira) who was a great tutor and disciplinarian for structured selling principles. Mark Kelly (currently CEO Grafton Merchanting UK) who gave me a great opportunity to manage a Retail growth opportunity at Caradon Plumbing Solutions – it was sink or swim stuff but I am still swimming.

The shower enclosure market is predicted to continue its growth over the last 10-years, with a 4% increase forecast for 2016. With 89% of UK homes now having showering facilities, lifestyle changes and returning rises in disposable income are expected to be significant factors in generating replacement sales, as consumers upgrade to more modern and more aspirational products. Other factors affecting the market include a trend towards walk-in and wet-room concepts, technological advances in shower controls and demand for inclusive design products as people are living longer and prefer to continue to live at home.

We are targeting growth in this sector together with our shower enclosure partners Showerlux, April, Twyford, Mira, Ideal Standard and Kinedo, with trays from MX and BETTE, all offering high quality products.

Our enclosures benefit from our renowned service support with stocks of the core range held in all our distribution centres for next day delivery to 99% of the country so you can assure your customers of a speedy response.

Our latest showers promotion, combining enclosures and trays and giving Love to Shop vouchers, has proved highly successful in bringing this much increased range into focus with retailers; and there are still opportunities to gain £20 or £50 vouchers for deliveries before the end of this February.

To highlight the enclosures in your showrooms, we have produced a new 20-page brochure detailing the best-selling ranges, with full product information for your customers.

Now when you think shower enclosures – think Ideal. We have the portfolio to meet all your needs and the proven service to support you. So it makes sense to put your shower requirements together with your other bathroom orders and get it all from Ideal Bathrooms – your preferred distributor.

“Distribution is Aqualisa’s primary route to market and we work closely with their teams to drive this highly reputed brand to new heights across our unrivalled customer base."

As one of the UK’s leading showering brands, Aqualisa works closely with Ideal Bathrooms as its principal national bathroom distributor and its products are stocked at all Ideal Bathrooms’ distribution centres with over 170 product lines.

Aqualisa is an iconic British company that stands for quality, innovation and service. Founded nearly 40 years ago, it has been at the cutting edge of shower design ever since its invention of the bi-metallic Thermacoil. In 2001, Aqualisa pioneered the first ground-breaking, digital shower with Quartz Digital and is still Britain’s best-selling digital shower company.

The Aqualisa range includes quality products across all showering categories, electric, mixer and digital.

A major change in the company’s structuretook place in 2014 with the management buyout backed by LDC, part of the Lloyds Banking Group. This follows 18 months of increased revenue and margin under the leadership of CEO David Hollander, ex Dyson MD who has brought his experience of this dynamic market to bear on the Aqualisa offering.

David Hollander comments, ‘The buyout represents a vote of confidence in Aqualisa’s future from both LDC and management. It’s the best possible news for customers, colleagues and suppliers. Partnering with LDC will allow us to pursue our rapid growth agenda, our obsession with showers and fast-track our ambitions.’

The new ownership will deliver increased investment in the next phase of Aqualisa's growth. New product development and support for customers are key drivers of the business plan and will see exciting new product launches throughout 2016 and 2017.

NEW MIDAS BAR VALVE

Aqualisa mixer showers set the standard that others follow, whether the original bi-metallic mixer valves or bar valve products such as the renowned Midas range. They’re safe, reliable and deliver a constant flow of water at a consistent temperature.

Next month the Midas bar valve range is to be re-launched. This classic range will be streamlined into three products, Midas 110, Midas 220 and Midas 330, with enhanced features such as cool touch, integrated divert and Aqualisa’s bar valve fixing kit. Unique styling, where the valve is rotated by 90 degrees, ensures a low profile in line with consumer demand. All three shower valves are constructed from solid brass and the top of the range Midas 330 has an LCD screen to indicate temperature. All models will benefit from stand-out consumer packaging and Aqualisa’s industry leading five years parts and labour guarantee.

Ideal Bathrooms’ Commercial Director, Danielle Lillis, endorses the supplier partnership with Aqualisa “Distribution is Aqualisa’s primary route to market and we work closely with their teams to drive this highly reputed brand to new heights across our unrivalled customer base. As a

key supplier partner, Aqualisa is a sponsor of our “Race to Mauritius” which forms an important part of our joint marketing to achieve their goals during 2016”.

NEW FOR 2016We have had an exciting product launch for 2016 which saw Tavistock making some great additions to our already extensive portfolio of bathroom products.

The latest in furniture design is shown in a new range called Forum. Its undeniably strong lines, ultra thin edged ceramic basin and bespoke colour-matched handle combine to create this look.

Additions have been made to our ever popular Compass modular furniture, with a new wall mounted format and a contemporary dark gloss clay finish to make it right on trend.

We have added some welcome line extensions to our best selling, classically styled Lansdown furniture - perfect for purists and those seeking a bathroom solution with plenty of storage space. Alternatively, Sequence is the latest in compact cloakroom styling for modern en suites or cloakrooms, available in 3 up-to-date finishes.

Some stunning new illuminated cabinets and mirrors have been introduced, with an abundance of features to ensure a smooth start to the day and provide the perfect finishing touch. The Nook cabinet can also be recessed into the bathroom wall for a completely sleek storage solution and a very minimal look."

"We are confident that customers will love these exciting new additions to our portfolio – it’s all about having the right product, service and people in place to make things happen", says Alan Ayers, Director of Sales, Tavistock. 2015 - HIGHLIGHTS AND SETTING THE STAGE —2015 was a busy year for Ideal Standard as the pace of the roll out of its retail strategy increased, with further development in the Interiors Collection and investment in a showroom support programme including the launch of IdealCLUB. IdealCLUB is a ground-breaking online engagement platform and incentive scheme for Ideal Standard’s Interiors showroom partners. All of these key steps are instrumental in the re-establishment of Ideal Standard as market leader in the independent showroom channel.

2015 also saw the culmination of years of research and innovation with the launch of Aquablade®, a revolutionary new flushing technology considered to be the most significant development in toilet design for over 70 years. Initially successfully launched on the Tonic II range in the Interiors Collection, the unique patented technology has recently been incorporated into the WC bowls of the best-selling ranges of Concept and Dea. And the good news is that new ranges due to be launched in the future will also feature this revolutionary flushing technology.

WINNING WAYS—The year, which saw Ideal Standard’s Dea suite winning 4 top design awards including Bathroom Product Innovation Of The Year, was topped off with a further innovation award - this time for Aquablade® – as it won the Gold Award for Innovation in Sustainability at the Designer Kitchen & Bathroom Awards 2015.

Throughout the SGBD Group, and equally throughout Ideal Bathrooms, charity raising events are an important employee activity. During the year, staff from all sections have again organised and taken part in a wide variety of fund raising events with proceeds going to the SGBD Group’s chosen charity MacMillan Cancer Support.

Events ranging from raffles and charity golf days to wine/beer sales, cake bakes and coffee mornings, all contributed towards an impressive total of £6,571.70, of which the annual Milton Keynes office and Christmas Party raffles raised just under £3,000 alone.

“We applaud the efforts of all those who give their time and hard work to raise funds towards much needed income for such worthwhile charities” says Ideal Bathrooms' Managing Director John Bagshaw.
