MAINSTREAM EMPHASIS CALL
SPIN CHAIN THRU
STARTING FORMATION - parallel waves. - Each end and the adjacent centre dancer turn one half (180°). - The new centres of each ocean wave turn three quarters (270°) to make a new ocean wave across the set. - The two centres of this wave turn one half (180°) to re form the wave across the set. - The two outside pairs of dancers of the centre wave now turn three quarters (270°) to join the waiting ends and form parallel ocean waves. - The Facing Couples Rule applies to this call. STYLING: Hands up as in swing thru. It is important that the waiting ends remain in static position with hands ready to assume appropriate position for the next call. TIMING - 16 steps

Club News
The last four to five weeks have been very busy for our members, both within the Club, and
outside the Club. We have had two State Of Origin Nights. The dance floor was a sea of
Maroon supporters all having a great time. These nights have involved a competition of
putting the football through the hole, scoring points for each team (QLD and NSW). On the
first night the Queensland Team won handsomely (not like the real Maroons), and on the
second night the Queensland Team won again, with Jan from Rambling Eights our overall
champion. The end of the month also saw Darren Warner winning the Wavell monthly draw
for May.
Several of our members have been away on cruises, road trips and train adventures. From
photos, emails and post cards that have been sent through, it looks like everyone is having a
wonderful time.
For the clubs associated with The Hub, we have started to promote a new jacket and polo
shirt. Those Clubs being, Wavell Whirlaways, Sunshine Squares, and Integrity Squares.
Looking forward to another busy month in July, and a Queensland series win in the State Of
Origin.

LOL - Laugh Out Loud
Ray and Bob, two Government maintenance guys, were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up. A woman walked by and asked what they were doing. "We're supposed to find the height of the flagpole", said Bob, "But we don't have a ladder." The woman said, "Hand me that wrench out of your toolbox." She loosened a few bolts, then laid the pole down. She then took a tape measure from their toolbox, took a measurement and announced, "Eighteen feet, six inches" and walked away. Ray shook his head and laughed. "Well, ain't that just like a 'Miss-know-it-all' woman?" he said. "We need the height and she gives us the length!" Ray and Bob are still working for the Government.

A lawyer had a wife and 12 children and needed to move as his rental agreement was coming to an end for the home where he lived but was having difficulty in finding a new home.
When he said he had 12 children, no one would rent a home to him because they knew that the children would destroy the home.
He could not say that he had no children, he could not lie, after all, lawyers cannot and do not lie.
So, he had an idea: he sent his wife for a walk to the cemetery with 11 children. He took the remaining one with him to see homes with the Real Estate Agent. He liked one of the homes and the agent asked, "How many children do you have?”
He answered : "12 children.” The agent asked "Where are the others?'
The lawyer answered, with a sad look, "They are in the cemetery with their mother.”
And that's the way he was able to rent a home for his family without lying.
Moral – it is not necessary to lie, one only has to choose the right words………………

Under the bed: Canadian typist Chamber Landis had often had her leg pulled about her unusual Christian name. But worse was to come - She married Vancouver salesman, Les Potts.
Don’t look up: The Eiffel Tower was completed in 1889. The French pronounce it “Ee-fell” after the man who built it. The British call it “Eye-full” - no doubt because if you stand
beneath is and look up at the pigeons, that’s what you get.
