Reading Plea - Please make

sure you are listening to your

child read their school reading

books and signing their reading

records so we can change their

books each week. It is also

useful to share a variety of other

books too. Thank you for your

Homework: Please check your homework books for

the latest homework.

English This week we will be learning what the features of a

recount are. We will build up to writing our own recounts

all about our trip to Tatton Park!

Once they have been written, we will proof read them to

check for errors and then edit them to make them better!

Things to think about: What is a time connective? (eg.

first, then, next, after that, finally etc.) Can you talk about

your weekend using any of these words?

Maths Our next unit is all about shape! What is the difference

between a 2D and a 3D shape? Can you sort shapes

according to their properties eg. number of sides/vertices

(corners)/edges etc.?

Things to think about: How many faces does a cube

have? What shape is each face on a cube? What are the

similarities and differences between a cube and a cuboid?

Have a look around the environment to see what 2D and

3D shapes you can spot. Can you name each shape?
