The successful 28th edition of Electricx welcomed over 200 exhibitors and 10,000+ attendees from across 17 countries, all with a vested interest in the innovations and developments taking place in the North African power sector. The 3-day conference programme featured presentations from industry experts such as The Ministry of Electricity & Renewable Energy, The Egypt Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) and the New & Renewable Energy Agency (NREA). Topics covered included The Modernisation of Egypt’s Electrical Infrastructure, the Egyptian Governments New & Renewable Energy Generation Goals, and The Role of Clean Technology in Economic Development.

Egypt has made great efforts towards the domestic manufacturing of electricity…We’ve made great progress on renewables as well…By the end of 2018, the total electricity capacity of Egypt’s grid will reach approximately 25,000 megawatts, equivalent to 12 times the capacity of the Aswan Dam.” Osama Asran, Deputy Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy stated.
