Assessment of all attendance courses
There is NO FINAL WRITTEN EXAM to sit at the end of the any Hypnotherapy
course. You are assessed throughout by direct observation of your performance
during the attendance days and through your homework answers and recordings.
You will have to complete practice sessions at home and provide these for
marking. One of these must be a complete therapy session with a practice client.
You will be given feedback throughout the course. If you are having problems they
will be discussed with you – we want you to pass. You must complete all elements
of the course before any diplomas are awarded.
*You will not get your qualification until all coursework is completed to the
required standard. The time limit on this course is 12 months but do not use this as
an excuse to not complete homework and assessments. Once you get behind it
becomes more difficult to complete the work required.
You will need to produce a portfolio of your assessment recordings, scripts and
question answers. This will need to be retained for possible moderation by a
representative of ACCPH who may wish to see your work.
5 Cressingham College of Hypnotherapy
There are many people who train with schools that do not offer advanced or
even up-to-date training.
Every year I get many students taking this course as a conversion course to
become a Licensed Responsive Advanced Hypnotherapist.
This course has the following accreditations and qualifications: Advanced
Practitioner of Clinical Hypnotherapy Level 4 (Responsive Hypnotherapy) ACCPH
accredits this course at Level 4. You will be entered on their register as an
Accredited Member.
The Clinical Hypnotherapy Practitioner Level 3 training is our entry level course,
and covers all theoretical and practical basics required to be a highly effective
professional clinical hypnotherapist. This may be our entry level hypnotherapy
course but we believe by adding the Responsive Hypnotherapy course to it, it
becomes one of the most in depth and advanced courses available in the UK today.

study between the weekends.
Unit 1: 2 days Learning the techniques and protocols involved in Responsive
Hypnotherapy

actual treatments that we will be watching and you will be taking away to practice
from.
You will also receive a Level 3 manual for each of the specialist areas to study at
your own speed. If you wish to complete the optional exam provided there is a

 Unit 6: Stress and Anger
Responsive Hypnotherapy is a stand-alone Post-graduate Advanced Clinical
Hypnotherapy course and is available to any hypnotherapist who holds a
recognised Practitioner Diploma. You must provide evidence for your qualification.
If you belong to a recognised UK professional body that will be sufficient evidence.
We study with the help of video and audio recordings of real life treatments. These
will be the standard techniques and protocols used.
When you study the options there will be other recordings, these will often show
variants of techniques, which is very useful to see how these are used to overcome
difficulties the clients were encountering.
What is Responsive Hypnotherapy?
The basic premise of this type of work is that people can change their mind fast. It
does not take weeks to change your mind – it takes seconds. When someone is
ready they can let go and feel the changes as they happen.
Much of this work is done in a rather light and natural trance – in fact the induction
used is something the client already has in their mind that makes them chilled out
7 Cressingham College of Hypnotherapy
and maybe even a little drowsy. Usually the client enters a deeper state totally of
their own non-conscious volition. This process is natural, indirect, conversational
and very non-threatening to the client.
Responsive Hypnotherapy does not look at the client’s past nor analyse why they
feel the way they do; it focuses on what is happening now, how to move the client
on to a predetermined and positive outcome. Painful abreactions rarely occur. The
lack of this unpleasant experience for the client was one of the main driving forces
behind the creation of this style of hypnotherapy.
Another important factor in the creation of this approach was speed of efficacy –
most problems eliminated for most people in one or two sessions – three or four for
multiple issues.
Every client is unique so the path to the future is different too – there are no
scripts to follow only the needs of the client’s map of their changing world. The
hypnotherapist is a highly skilled interactive guide.
He or she is not a dictator, provider of suggestions, giver of information or reader
of a script.
You will need to be able to tell a story, (metaphor), off-the-cuff with all the
elements your client needs to make their changes. This is based on the techniques
and protocols provided.
The hypnotherapist requires a significant degree of intuitive understanding. They
observe and identify the client’s modes of communication – verbal, nonverbal and
to all intents and purposes accepts their interpretation of reality.
The hypnotherapist quite rapidly helps the client to modify their thoughts,
emotions and behaviours, using the highly specialised techniques. The client draws
on the talents they already have and use these very effectively to feel and live the
changes as they happen.
The process is practiced in a style that is non-rigid, fluid and responsive to the
needs of the client. It is almost totally client led so is easy and meets very little
psychological resistance. The mind is not forced or coerced in any way. Self-
created changes are far more powerful than given suggestions.
This is similar to Aikido, where force is not met with counterforce but is allowed to
spend itself or to be diverted to new directions. In Responsive Hypnotherapy the
8 Cressingham College of Hypnotherapy
negative energy of their thoughts and behaviours is used to help the client’s
transformation.
Responsive Hypnotherapy takes it as read; that most if not all our negative
beliefs are ‘self-hypnotised’ into the brain Responsive Hypnotherapy is used for
rapidly de-hypnotising the mind to enable the client to take control of their
behaviour.
Not control of their old unwanted negative behaviour – that has gone; but of their
new life enhancing behaviour.
Not only are there no scripts but there is no CD to listen to for a month after. Why?
There are two reasons: there is no need; and how crap does it make your therapy
sound if someone has to listen to a CD for 30 days for it to work?
Responsive Hypnotherapy - Making Life Easier.
I chose the tag line Making Life Easier because it does that for the client and for
the hypnotherapist.
It makes life easier for the client because they get rapid permanent relief from
their problems
It makes life easier for the hypnotherapist because they have a system that works
for most things for most people most of the time and is very easy to use.

This 6 day, (3 weekend) Level 4 Cognitive-behavioural Hypnotherapy, (CBH) is a
stand-alone Post-graduate Clinical Hypnotherapy course and is available to any
hypnotherapist who holds a recognised Practitioner Diploma. You must provide
evidence of your qualification. If you belong to a recognised UK professional body
that will be sufficient evidence.
The course incorporates our Level 4 Cognitive-Behavioural Hypnotherapy home
study diploma course. The manual is 250 A4 pages long and very detailed. In buying
this course you will be getting the £225 home study course free.
The content of the home study course will give you all the CBT knowledge you
need. Although it is taught in essence during the 3 weekends most of the classroom
time is about how to use the content in conjunction with hypnotherapy and for
client CBT homework.
Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy. It aims to solve
present problems and stop negative thinking and behaviours. It is a combination of
behavioural and cognitive therapy principles. There may be behaviours that cannot
be controlled through rational thought as they are due to prior conditioning from
experiences of life. CBT is problem-focused, action-oriented and directive in its
therapeutic approach.
It is different from a psychoanalytical approach. CBT therapists do not look for the
‘unconscious’ meaning behind behaviours. They use tactics to change a client’s
thoughts and reactions to a stimulus.
CBT is effective for a variety of conditions, including but not only:
 moods and depression
 anxiety and phobia
 personality issues
 eating problems
 addictions
 stress and anger
 sleep problems
 some psychotic disorders.

How Cognitive-behavioural therapy works
CBT presupposes that changing poor thinking leads to change in behaviour.
The basic steps in a cognitive-behavioural assessment include:
1: Identify critical maladaptive behaviours
2: Are the behaviours excesses or deficits?
3: Evaluate behaviours, (frequency, duration and intensity), to get a baseline
4: Change frequency, duration, or intensity of behaviours; depending on the
requirements
If the goal was to decrease the behaviour, then there should be a decrease relative
to the baseline. If the critical behaviour remains at or above the baseline, then the
intervention has failed.
Cognitive-behavioural therapy has six phases:
 Assessment of problem
 Re-conceptualisation
 New skills acquisition
 Skills consolidation and application
 Maintenance
 Post-treatment follow-up.

This 6 day, (3 weekend) Level 4 Ericksonian Hypnotherapy with NLP Master
Practitioner is a stand-alone Post-graduate Clinical Hypnotherapy course and is
available to any hypnotherapist who holds a recognised Practitioner Diploma. You
must provide evidence of your qualification. If you belong to a recognised UK
professional body that will be sufficient evidence.
Ericksonian Hypnotherapy is very powerful and tells us as therapists to use the
problems the client presents us with to get rid of it. This sounds somewhat odd.
But it is based on the concept that the answers are already undiscovered in the
client’s mind. Erickson developed language patterns that enabled him, and now us,
to discover what a person really needs when they come for help.
You will learn how to use Ericksonian language and protocols so the client can
make fast and permanent changes in their thoughts, beliefs and actions.
Many Ericksonian language patterns and other processes have been incorporated
into NLP, but this is not an NLP course, although in some sections there are
similarities.
This Level 4 Ericksonian Hypnotherapy Practitioner Course is not all about theory;
there is quite a lot of practical within this course. There is no better way to learn
a ‘new language’ that practicing on someone else.
You will receive a printed manual together with practical and written assignments
to complete between the weekends.
Level 4 Ericksonian Hypnotherapy Course Content When you take this course you will learn:
 The Milton Model
The structure, content and application of Ericksonian Hypnotherapy
‘Ericksonian’ questioning skills – key to successful therapy
 Embedded questions and commands
How to change poor thoughts and behaviours rapidly
 Confusion techniques
Level 4 Ericksonian Hypnotherapy
Practitioner & NLP Master Practitioner
14 Cressingham College of Hypnotherapy
 Vague and ambiguous language
Utilisation approach inductions and session structure
 Metaphor creation and implementation
 Parallel realities

 Pacing current experience
 ‘Mind reading’
 Illusion of choice
 Deletions and ‘amnesia’
 Time Distortion
 Chunking – up and down

Contact other hypnotherapy training establishments and compare my course
content and approach to theirs. If you want to ask for clarification on anything just
call on 01322 521011.
My hypnotherapy philosophy is a little 'out there' for some people. They will be
drawn to a more orthodox school and that is OK,(for them). But you probably want
to belong to hypnotherapy (r)evolution. When you are certain of the fact that you
want to be part of the expanding future call me on 01322 521011.
If you wish to join the hypnotherapy Practitioners Course I will interview you first
over the phone/Skype. I need to ensure that you will be one of our best adverts
when you are out there in the wider community changing people's lives.
The same applies to the Responsive Hypnotherapy and The Flourish Programme.
Once you have been accepted onto one of the courses or programmes you will be
expected to pay the required deposit to hold your place. These courses fill up fast
so do not wait too long. In special circumstances I may allow the transfer of the
deposit to another course - but only once.
All other courses may be booked as required.
Refund Policy If a student commences a course but decides not to continue the student will be entitled to a refund of that part of the training paid for but not received. This excludes the initial non-refundable deposit. Any training already received but the instalments have not been paid for, will become payable in full. There will be no graduation or certificates/diplomas given if payments are still outstanding. Full details are on the website
