+Where it all began…

In 1826, the first permanent picture was taken by Joseph Nicephore Niepce. The exposure took eight hours.

In 1839, the first picture of a person was developed by another French artist.

1845 French physicist, Louis Fizeau, took the first successful photograph of the sun. With new tecnology, Fizeau and his team was able to capture sun spots.

In 1861, the first color photo was taken, through three filters- red, green and blue. His photo was a multicolored ribbon. This inspired people to start taking more colored pictures, and to try and make the process easier.

First Kodak Camera Released “You press the button, we do the rest.”The creator wanted to call his business something that started and ended with his favorite letter, “K”.

1905

National Geographic Magazine published a group of photos of Tibet. The issue was 11 pages, and it was taken in black and white.

+1910Hand-Colored Pictures In November, William Chapin published “scenes form

Korea and China”. It was 24 pages long, of hand colored pictures; being the largest collection of photographs published up to that time period.

1940The first high speed photography image was produced by a professor of electrical engineering at MIT. Their goal was to freeze movements of nature, that you wouldn’t necessarily see with your eyes.

1. It shows half or Earth, surrounded/covered by night. From Istanbul to to Cape Town, this picture was shot at a distance of about 236,000 miles away.

An engineer for Kodak build the worlds first digital camera. The camera was about the size of a toaster… people told him he needed to revise his work.
