HERO versions of rotary stretch-blow moulders are designed to operate with both a sin-gle cavity and a dual cavity*. That means they can be used to form one bottle, or two at the same time.

The distinguishing features of this generation of stretch-blow moulders are high pro-ductivity (up to 4,500 bph/mould with the dual cavity) and low consumption. A major contribution to this result comes from the blowing block, optimized for the single and dual cavity configuration, a preform heating system that makes the most of reflection and benefits from ventilation optimized down to the last detail, and a stabilisation time that can be adapted to preform thickness.

Bottle design, together with ever-lighter PET materials, demands set-up flexibility and simplicity: that’s why the brushless motor stretch system combines, at speeds of up to 2,000 mm/s, flexibility with outstanding performance.

However, flexibility is only truly achieved where set-up is user-friendly: the HMI guides the selection and parameter setting process, automatically checking that values are with-in user-set limits.

All this comes with constantly monitored quality, thanks to an inspection system that can be incorporated on the blower to check both preform and bottle.

The FillerThe AWS is an automatic filler that combines simplicity, low costs, hygiene and flexibility. The result? Fully guaranteed process quality and unbeatable versatility in managing different sizes and filling recipes.

This electronic filler combines simplicity and low cost with flexibility and precision. Sturdy and reliable, the AWS offers extremely versatile management of different sizes and filling recipes.

No risk of contamination from contact with the bottle and low costs – thanks to the pat-ented Sacmi system that uses just one flow meter in the whole filler – are just two of the distinctive machine characteristics; additionally, the machine has low maintenance requirements and features fast, simplified sanitation thanks to the integrated CIP and automated dummy bottle insertion.

Made entire of stainless steel, the Sacmi AWS is the perfect still water filling solution. The simple, reliable handling system is designed to maximize size changeover versatility.

Sterile air flowing over the entire filling and capping zone – and the ability to effect ex-ternal washing with sanitising products – complete the picture, ensuring total product quality and process hygiene.

The LabellerThe Sacmi ERF labeller is the most user-friendly roll-fed labeller of its kind. The frame, the labelling station, automation and design are all aimed at providing the most efficient, ergonomic, flexible and user-friendly block system experience.

This machine is ideal for after-filling labelling as it can start and stop to match bottle inflow speeds and also ensures proper machine performance if one or more bottles are missing. Label application control guarantees maximum efficiency according to bottle flow and the label film auto-splicing system does not cause any machine slowdown.

Easily accessibility from a standing position and a compact, symmetric machine con-cept ensure user-friendly set-up. The operator can adjust both label reel supports via a sin-gle control and labelling station tilt can be adjusted, if necessary, during machine running to improve label overlap quality.

Label film management - starting from the brushless servo motor-driven label reel hold-er, into and through the buffer – and a low-inertia pinch roller system enable correct handling of lightweight films.

Brushless servo motor rotation of the label film cutting drum and label vacuum drum guarantees correct transfer and precision through to final on-bottle label application. Long-lasting label film cutting blades also play an important role in this process.

The glue drum optimizes the gluing area on the leading and trailing edges of each label during their passage on the vacuum drum. This ensures that on-bottle label application and closing of label overlap by the wiping system is of the highest quality.

All label changeover operations have been made easier: this, together with the above advantages, makes the overall machine package one of the most innovative available.

The shrinking reserves of traditional energy sources and the result-

ing increase in their cost now make it vital, for the strategic devel-

opment of companies, to identify the best way of managing produc-

tion processes and optimizing the use of resources. To meet this

growing need effectively, in both environmental and economic terms,

SACMI has founded H.E.R.O. - High Efficiency Resource Optimizer, a

research laboratory dedicated to developing innovative technologies

for achieving the greatest possible resource savings at every stage of

the production process. The special applications developed as part of

the H.E.R.O. project enable more intelligent energy consumption, with

a view to more careful energy management, optimization of logistics

and improved handling of raw materials, in terms of both effective

reduction of waste, and wider use of technology which cuts down on

the use of solvents and chemical adhesives. The economic benefits

are therefore reflected in the company’s TCO (total cost of owner-

ship) right from the first year of application, as part of a strategy of re-

spect for the environment and constant raising of quality standards.

HEROBLOCK is the new, compact, versatile quadblock that, by eliminating conveying

and other intermediate stages, cuts costs and boosts process efficiency. This is an-

other huge step forwards for H.E.R.O. (High Efficiency Resource Optimizer), Sacmi’s

ambitious project to increase the technological content of individual machines while

simultaneously optimizing energy and environmental resource consumption.

The key characteristics of the quadblock – which incorporates all of Sacmi’s best

blowing, filling, capping and labelling technology – are compactness and efficiency

through process optimization. With HEROBLOCK, zero waste time, a modular struc-

ture and process linearity have been combined with design specifications intended

to make all the worker’s tasks easier, ensuring flexible manufacturing with outstand-

ing performance and reliability to give markets a perfect response to their needs.

Sacmi HEROBLOCK is also part of H.E.R.E. (Human Expertise for Reactive Engineer-

ing), the 4.0 platform with which Sacmi has implemented smart factory principles

across the entire range of machines and technologies. Advanced sensors and careful

control of every stage of the process form a system that - thanks to digital production

imaging and advanced factory data analysis software - increases the efficiency of

each individual machine, system, production plant and even multiple interconnected

production plants belonging to the same customer.

Sacmi H.E.R.O. (High Efficiency Resource Optimizer) and the H.E.R.E. 4.0 platform form the basis of the HEROBLOCK project in which Sacmi makes the most of its unique experience and know-how of individual process stages. All with the advantage of a compact, modular, ergonomic solution that optimizes the process and makes it easier for producers to reap the benefits of flexible production.
