Today is an absolutely beau#ful day as we pause to remember and give

reverence on September 11. We should never forget those who gave their lives

when terrorist invaded our country and brought evil and chaos. Our God and

country are greater than Satan’s evil.

Thanks be to God for His protec#ve hand and for the many first

responders—police officers, fire fighters, medical professionals, hospitals, clergy,

chaplains, nurses, doctors and many more who put themselves in harm’s way to

make the world save for us every day. We can never say thank you enough.

Good for Building UP

We all need encouragement. Some days are just darker than the skies would

imply and despair can become a constant companion. Peoples outsides don’t always

display the conflict or disconnect lurking below the surface. We may never know just

how much an encouraging word, a genuine smile, a shared scripture, or a moment of

prayer might accomplish in someone’s day and heart. It only costs us a speck of #me to

speak strength into a brother or sister’s life. Ephesians 4:29 says “Let no corrupng talk

come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion,

that it may give grace to those who hear.”

We all need encouragement but probably none more o4en and desperately

than our children and youth. Young folks are just finding their way, examining their

faith, and baEling self doubt with every awkward encounter or worldly comparison. We

can all be a part of their construc#on crew to build up strong believers and reveal the

untruths of those who would tear down these wonderful temples God has created. I

can’t wait for our Journey 456 event and the opportunity to deliver the absolute

certainty to these young hearts that they are enough, they have what it takes, and pour

in the encouragement to be the wonderful crea#on God is sharing with the world.

The Youth took a moment Sunday night to share encouragement with a very

special recent Graduate. Most of you know that Chris>an Hutson is currently in Basic

Training with the US Air Force in Texas. He needs encouragement. He needs

support. He needs home. He will be geKng lots of love in leEers from the Youth - join

us in sending some encouragement to:

A Mercy Minute,

Addic#on begins as an

inten#onal des#na#on out of God’s

Will. Eventually, it becomes a fast

moving train speeding away from

home; it is impossible to jump off

and every stop seems scarier than

staying aboard. All run-away trains

eventually crash...the survivors

celebrate recovery and begin the

long journey back home. This week

at Mercy Place, Brandy McTarsney

will share her personal journey back

to her Lord and Savior a4er

venturing far from home. A

triumphant return is “by the blood of

the lamb and by the word of their

tesmony”! (Rev. 12:11)

Blessings, Hardin
