Like many of you, I have appreciated healthcare over the past 35 years, a

Promoting Spcecialty Certification via Job Fair -CCRN, Med/Surg.
AAHINC participated in Nurse.com Job Fair by showcasing All About Health, Inc. and its
initiative of promoting nursing specialty certification The job fair was well attended - had
excellent opportunity to come face-lo-face with nurses, especially the new graduates. It was
very inspiring noting the level of enthusiasm the nurses exhibited to advance their nursing
career to the next level of effectiveness. As we know, obtaining a specialty certification,
indicates that a nurse has acquired knowledge beyond the required minimum of an RN
license. Certification is a voluntary process - signifies that a nurse has developed specialty
knowledge beyond the entry level. Empirical studies indicated a link between specialty
certification and nurse knowledge and lifelong learning Also studies indicated that specialty
certification provides personal satisfaction and enhances personal confidence in clinical
abilities, techniques, skill, and judgment that affect patient safety and outcome

TIPS FOR LEADERS
"Tit Bits of the Quarter"
PASS IT ON!
WINTER 2015
Exemplary leaders make things happen. They notice when something isn't working. They step up to help create a solution, get buy-in, and implement the desired outcome. They think outside the box and encourage others to do the same. Are you that type of leader, the one who asks why and encourages others to follow your lead? Do you challenge people to try out new and innovative ways to do their work? Make a commitment to enhance your practice of Challenging the Process by building this online activity into your routine ...
Use a blog to identify tasks or procedures that need review or new thinking. Give it a name, such as the New Thinking Journal or the Status Quo Challenge. As you discover new, innovative, or more productive ways of doing things, post the most appropriate findings and encourage others to comment or post their own ideas
( Kouzes and Posner,2010)
Disengaged patients are less likely to be satisfied, more likely to be readmitted and the results have a negative
impact on clinical outcomes and potential reimbursement. By increasing engagement you can improve patient
satisfaction and raise HCAHPS scores among other metrics.
Email your "Tit Bits to Pass - on" to [email protected]. for our next publication.
