A collection of 3 & 4 bedroom homes
The HawthornsRascals Close, Southwater, West Sussex RH13 9GB
Beautiful homes, attractively priced
The South Downs
The popular village of Southwater is an exceptional location for our new 3 & 4 bedroom homes
Feel your spirits soar when you discover the lifestyle that
awaits you at The Hawthorns - Abbey Homes’ tempting
selection of 3 and 4 bedroom homes in the popular village of
Southwater.
Situated approximately four miles south of Horsham and not
far from the South Downs, Southwater is in demand by both
discerning home buyers and well-informed business
relocators. For commuters, there are good rail services from
Horsham to London Bridge and London Victoria (around 70-75
minute journey times), and regular buses to Horsham and
other destinations. The location, on the A24 and minutes from
the M23 for nearby Gatwick and the M25, is also great for
drivers.
For families, the ticked boxes include a child-friendly
environment, green spaces, schools, churches, GPs, a
modern shopping precinct with supermarket, Post Office and
pharmacy, and both indoor and outdoor leisure amenities.
The schools include Southwater Village Hall Pre-School,
Infants and Juniors as well as Castlewood Primary and a
playgroup. Schools for older children include four secondaries
within about 4.5 miles. Nursery provision in the area includes
a Montessori in Horsham.
... savour a new work-play balance
Southwater bucks the trend of many villages by having
attracted new employers in recent years. The modernised
shopping centre and futuristic buildings on the business park
reflect this success. But you can be reassured that
Southwater is protecting its leafy environment and
Village Centre Southwater cycle way
quintessential village life, with measures such as traffic calming
for pedestrian safety, and the sympathetic visual blending
(such as with Victorian-style lamps) of established and newer
residential areas.
Around the village there are areas of woodland, with abundant
wildlife and sightings of deer, badgers and many species of
birds to be enjoyed. Known for miles around for its natural
beauty is the 90-acre Southwater Country Park, which offers
sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, fishing, an adventure-style play
area and visitor centre. The village also has its own Leisure
Centre with state-of-the-art gym, indoor football pitch, fitness
classes, mother and baby groups and more. The nearby
Downslink path is a great starting point for walking or cycling
the South Downs National Park.
Just north of Southwater on the A24 is a Park and Ride site for
visitors to Horsham. This award-winning market town has an
attractive layout, medieval buildings, and a fusion of independent
shops and well-known retailers. The latter include a Beales
department store, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Tesco. There is a
local produce and general market on Saturdays, and another
general market on Thursdays. Horsham also boasts a
fascinating museum with art gallery, a large park and
pedestrianised streets with a cosmopolitan, al fresco dining
scene.
Horsham’s Pavilions in the Park leisure complex provides many
sports and recreational opportunities, while the district’s key arts
venue,The Capitol, offers a large theatre, two cinemas, an art
gallery and stylish café and bar.
A short distance from the town is Warnham Local Nature
Reserve, a 92-acre expanse with millpond, reed beds, bird
hides and visitor centre.
The area is served by several hospitals, including Horsham
Hospital’s Minor Injuries Unit. A good network of bus routes
can be accessed from Horsham, including services to London
Gatwick airport. In addition to London, the rail destinations
include Croydon, Gatwick, Crawley and Chichester.
The area is rich in quality visitor attractions, among them
Leonardslee Gardens, Amberley Museum, Petworth House,
Nymans Garden, Arundel Castle, Arundel Wetland Centre,
RSPB Pulborough Brooks Nature Reserve and the Bluebell
Railway at Uckfield, while a few miles south lie the varied
resorts of the south coast.

Abbey New Homes is a subsidiary of Abbey plc whose
principal activities are residential housing development in the
UK, Ireland and the Czech Republic.
For two generations, the sales sign in front of our Abbey New
Homes developments has become a familiar sight in the South
East of England. With many thousands of homes and satisfied
customers to our credit, we continue to offer
‘Beautiful Homes, Attractively Priced’.
As a responsible developer we endeavour to
provide information that portrays as accurate a
picture as possible of your future home and we
would like to point out the following:
Whilst every care is taken to ensure accuracy of
all published material, we reserve the right to
amend or improve the specification, materials,
floor layouts and site plans. Any alteration will be
clearly shown on a separate sales information
Abbey
sheet available in the site sales office. Please note that interior
images shown in this particular brochure are indicative only
and not taken from Abbey Developments interiors.
The landscaping shown on the site layout is indicative of a
matured development and, as with all new developments, is
subject to approval by the Local Authority. The artist has also
tried to give some indication of how extra planting could be
used to enhance the appearance of your home. As we try to
provide as much variety as possible, the configuration of
homes, garage positions, brick colours, windows, external
treatments and levels can vary from plot to plot. We can
therefore only give typical illustrations.
Thank you for visiting The Hawthorns. If you require any further
information please refer to the site sales representatives who
will be happy to help you choose a house of which to be
proud.
