There will be no newsletter published December 30.
In a few short days, we will close the door on
2015 and rush into the endless possibilities of
2016. Let me share with you some of my
favorite moments from this past year. In January, I was blessed to
move our family here to serve as your Pastor. In March, we
journeyed together through 40 days of devotionals written by our
own. In April, we gathered to remember the Passion of Christ and
celebrate His resurrection. On Mother’s Day in May, we were
blessed to worship with the children of Uganda. During the
summer we saw children learn of Jesus during VBS. Our students
grew in their walks with Christ and our church hired Brad Boucher
to lead our Student ministry. Then in the fall, I rejoiced as you
continued to give sacrificially of your time and your resources.
This year will go down as the strongest financial giving year in our
history. From budget offerings, to Golden Offering for state
missions and recently Lottie Moon, your giving has been a blessing
in so many ways. The year finished strong with our Christmas
Cantata with over 2,200 people in attendance and the
announcement of a potential new Associate Pastor.
While there are so many great memories from 2015, I
cannot help but to remember the bittersweet loss of so many
precious brothers and sisters. Despite the good and the difficult of
2015, we stand with a new beginning before us. Paul said in
Philippians 3:12-14, “Not that I have already obtained it or have
already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that
for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not
regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do:
forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies
ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of
God in Christ Jesus.” My prayer for you this new year is that we
will unite to give all that we are to Jesus.
For His Glory,
Pastor Justin
