I hear the stories all the time about the guy that built the
school and how his wife
and mistresses all went insane and eventually ended up dead,
Okoye said, referencing
the lore surrounding historic Henry Flagler and his three wives.
I hear crazy dorm
stories too about ghostsits all just crazy to me.
Naturally, people in the community are well aware of the
happenings, past and
present. Theyve even cashed in on the citysmysterious reputation
by allowing civilians
to go on paid tours of the cities more notorious sites--even to
the chagrin of some.
I cant deny there is some sensationalism and misrepresentation
of history in the
ghost tours--but, the same can be said of textbooks, said
Randall. Anything that gets
people interested in Florida history is worthwhile.
