Celebrating 200 Years: Illinois Supreme Court Justice Robert R. Thomas officially launches the Bicentennial of Illinois Law traveling exhibit. On display through Oct. 26 in the SSC Atrium, the exhibit was unveiled following a Sept. 21 presentation. Read More President’s Corner: The College and our students have benefitted greatly from Perkins Grant funding. It was my pleasure last week to welcome Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi to the TEC to see just how this funding continues to impact our students. Krishnamoorthi championed the first reauthorization of Perkins since 2006, which increases funding nationally by $1.3 billion by 2024. This will have tremendous impact on career and technical education, helping thousands of students in their educational endeavors. “Curse of the Starving Class”: College Theater opens Sam Shepard's biting satire "The Curse of the Starving Class" at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in the MAC's Studio Theatre. The play chronicles the Tate family as they fight for control of their rundown farm in the hope of finding freedom, security and meaning in their lives. Read More

Discovering Easter Island: Anthropology adjunct faculty member Dale Simpson Jr. has dedicated almost 20 years of his adult life studying the intricate history of Easter Island. Working on the Rapa Nui Geochemical Project with a number of collaborators, Simpson recently co-authored ground-breaking findings in the Journal of Pacific Archaeology hypothesizing that the Rapa Nui people were much more collaborative and interactive than scientists originally believed.
