When did you join the Atlanta FSC, and how did you first become involved as a volunteer? Our family joined the Atlanta FSC in 2011 so Chloe could be in the “Georgia on My Mind” Spring Show.
Describe your past and current positions as well as any other contributions to the club. Now that my daughter Chloe is getting older I am able to volunteer a little more so I am currently exploring different volunteer opportunities. I typically work every competition as an ice monitor. I also was a volunteer committee head for the South Atlantic Regional competition that was held here, and have helped with the past few shows. At the most recent show, I was the Assistant Show Chair, and I learned so much from this experience. Tami Mickle and Christi Fisher went out of their way to help me learn most aspects of putting the show together. I have gained a new appreciation for how much time and effort goes into planning a show of this magnitude.
Describe your accomplishments as a skater or your participation in other sports. I have never skated but I can appreciate that our skaters are learning one of the most challenging sports. I cannot believe how much time it takes to master new figure skating skills.
Tell us about your background, profession, hobbies, family. I grew up in a military household so I traveled extensively as a child. I was fortunate enough to live in Germany and Hawaii. I graduated from high school in Virginia Beach and moved to Florida to begin my hotel career and to attend college. I then traveled extensively for about 10 years with my hotel job. I moved into the technology side of the hospitality industry and still traveled to various hotels setting up their computer systems. In 2002 I met a very dashing Englishman who stole my heart within a few months. We were married in Fiji in March, 2003. Chloe was born in 2007, and we decided to take her to a public session when she was three and loved it immediately. She has been skating ever since.
What three items are on your “bucket list?” I have many things on my bucket list that I have yet to complete. My top three would be to go on an Alaskan cruise, to live in another country, and I would love to go to Fiji again as a family so Chloe could experience its beauty.

High School Activities, Clubs, Honors I am graduating from Veritas Classical School and am a National Merit Scholar, AP Scholar with Distinction, and recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Gold Award all four years of high school. I am the student body president and have loved the opportunity to found and lead our service club the past three years. Future Plans (college, including major, skating, other) I will attend Vanderbilt University. I’m excited to be pre-med as a public or global health major with a concentration in nutrition. I have always wanted to be a doctor, specifically a neonatologist, and look forward to attending medical school. I hope to be a part of the Vanderbilt Figure Skating Club and continue practicing and testing. Skating Career Highlights (competitions, testing, etc.) I have been skating since 2010 and have loved taking lessons with Graham, testing, and competing locally. I have passed through intermediate moves in the field and would like to continue testing to pass senior moves. I’m incredibly thankful for the character, athleticism, and artistry that skating has built into me.
Extracurricular Activities I have been playing and competing in classical piano for 10 years and hope to continue lessons or minor in college. Most important to me in high school has been serving and spending time in many different communities in Atlanta. I’ve loved being a VolunTEEN at Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital the past three summers, spending time with women in a safe house at City of Refuge, and founding Kids Thrive, a health and fitness program for homeless children.

SALUTING OUR 2016 GRADUATES
June, 2016
Coming Soon — the Atlanta FSC Axel Club! Beginning with the new season and club year, we will introduce the first Atlanta FSC Axel Club which is designed to recognize an important milestone and goal in each skater’s career. Qualifications A skater must complete three sequential clean single Axels (no more than 2-3 steps in between each) or two sequential clean double Axels (no more than 2-3 steps in between) as witnessed by a U.S. Figure Skating judge. The judge will complete a short form that can be left in the club mailbox at the rink. All skaters are eligible regardless of when they have accomplished clean Axels. Recognition The skater will receive an Axel Club pin and and will be showcased on our club website, Facebook page, bulletin board, and the Freestyler.
