Even though we’ve seen enough new years to understand that some things seldom change, we hold on to the hope that our health might improve, the economy may do well, the elections may yield the results we considerable favorable, and the church will be faithful. One thing we know will never change – God will be faithful. Persons who linger too long in darkness will still be found by the light. Those who wander will find a way. When God Is a Child December 30, 2015 The Good News

Wednesday night Youth will resume on January 6th.

Remember, youth is from 6:00-7:30. On Friday, December 18th we had our first Christmas lights scavenger hunt. We had so much fun riding around town spotting the items on our list. We are hoping this becomes an annual event! A special thanks to Gwen Sanders, Cari Davis and Amanda Willingham for driving.

Thank you to Katie Coleman for coordinating our dance ministry! We also appreciate Amber Hayes work in this area. These ladies led our young people in offering a heartfelt rendition of "Little Dummer Boy" on December 20th. God is surely pleased! We hope to see more offerings from our young dancers in the future.

Thank You to Katie and all of our dancers!

YOUTH SPOTLIGHT

Congratulations to Drake Sanders for achieving honorable mention for the all district team for the 2015 football season.

JYF Midwinter: “It’s Not Church Without U!”

The JYF Midwinter will be held January 22-24. It is open to all children in the 3rd through 5th grades. It’s a great way to introduce your little camper to the camping ministry if they haven’t been to Disciples Crossing before. If your child is a camp veteran, many of the familiar faces and traditions of JYF camp will be present. This retreat will focus on learning about the Church and the fact that we are all called to serve in some way. Campers will be exploring rotation stations that will be set up all over our beautiful camp. We will worship together, pray together, and share meals together. Of course they will also play some awesome group games and create some beautiful art. This event costs $90 per person. (Church pays half of fee.)

Registrations are due by January 8th. Late registrations will be accepted on a case by case basis,

depending on availability for the event. A $10 late fee per person will be charged for each late

registration.

Contact the office or Tiffany if you plan to go. Registration paperwork is found

online /http://www.disciplescrossing.org/jyf-midwinter/

Community Pantry Supporters, Neighbors Feeding Neighbors provided food to 222 families at the 1st Friday Community Pantry in December. In addition to the food provided by the Tarrant Area Food Bank NFN provided a bag of food for a Christmas meal and a ham. Hams were donated by Zackry Corporation and foods by several of our pantries and supporters. We were blessed to have lots of volunteers including over 20 girls from the High School Basketball team and nearly 20 students from Cornerstone Christian Academy. Attached is the 2016 CP schedule. If you need copies of the schedule contact me. Our January distribution will be on January 8 and will be coordinated Acton United Methodist Church. Volunteers are always needed and should be there at 7:45a.m. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. Dave Stockbridge CP Coorinator

Note: The schedule for the Community Pantry is located on the bulletin board across from the mailboxes and one is posted in the education wing kitchen
