Arne Ronald Robert Jussila For Arne Ronald Robert Jussila, age 79, joy came in the morning on February 5, 2013, at home in Brush Prairie, WA, where he resided for 40 years. He was born May 23, 1933, on Triangle Ranch, in Amasa, MI. For the last three years, partially paralyzed by a stroke, he was lovingly cared for at home by his wife, Juanita and daughter, Eva. As a young lad, Arne’s father moved the family to Detroit, MI. A few years were spent there, ending when his father met with an untimely death. Subsequently, his widowed mother moved her three children to Crystal Falls, where they lived together on the Jussila farm. Around this time he became known to his family as “Ronny”. Eventually, moving to Calumet, Arne graduated from Calumet High School. At that time, he said “Uncle Sam drafted him to The United States Army,” and often stated that he served for “1 year 11 months and 15 days.” He continued serving stateside in the reserves for six more years, during which time the last four were spent sailing the Great Lakes on the iron ore carriers. While in the service, he learned his lifelong trade of heavy equipment operating. It was said what most men needed to do with a grader, Arne would do better with his bulldozer. He was preceded in death by his father Arnie Jussila Sr., mother Lillian (Kangas) Jussila Wolfe, stepfather William Wolfe, first wife Ruth (Somero) Jussila, sister Shirlee Infurna, and twin sons Joseph and Reuben. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Juanita (Stenersen) Jussila, of Brush Prairie, WA, one brother Earl Jussila, of Chula Vista, CA, six daughters Janine Keteri with husband Dan of Vancouver, WA, Toini Seppala with husband Rick of Fitzwilliam, NH, Eva Jussila of Brush Prairie, WA, Cilla Matson with husband Michael of Amboy, WA, Martha Mickelson with husband Ralph of Cheney, WA, Elina Matson with husband Daryl of Greer, SC. Also five sons, Ben with wife Myrna of Brush Prairie, WA, William with wife Betsy of Pleasant Garden, NC, Jacob with wife Robyn of Greer, SC, Isaac with wife Naomi of Rindge, NH, Samuel of Brush Prairie, WA, 42 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, February 11, 2013, at the Hockinson Apostolic Lutheran Church. Layne’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. The Goddard School raises funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities To celebrate 25 years of ser- vice in early childhood educa- tion, The Goddard School Van- couver (Salmon Creek) kicked off the national organization’s 25th anniversary festivities with a special fundraising campaign to beneit Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Chil- dren, families and friends of the school participated in a silent art auction of the children’s art cre- ations to raise more than $1,000 to support RMHC. “Having our children in- volved in this charity program made this partnership a truly worthwhile experience,” said Michelle Solari, owner of The Goddard School Vancouver (Salmon Creek). “At The God- dard School, we seek to col- laborate with families to nurture respectful, conident and joyful learners. Our partnership with Ronald McDonald House Chari- ties supports our school’s com- mitment to provide children the skills they need for long-term success both in school and in life.” The Goddard School Vancou- ver (Salmon Creek) was one of more than 390 Goddard Schools nationwide to participate in fundraising efforts to support RMHC nationally. Together, the schools raised a total of over $1,000. In addition to fundraising efforts, children at The God- dard School Vancouver (Salmon Creek) created birthday cards for the local, Portland/Vancou- ver RMHC chapter. The cards will be distributed throughout the year to pediatric patients or family members celebrating birthdays during their, or a loved one’s, hospital stay. For every card that Goddard Schools nationwide collected, Goddard Systems, Inc., donated $1 to RMHC (up to $25,000). In total, children at The God- dard School Vancouver (Salm- on Creek) made 65 cards for RMHC. For more information, visit www.goddardschool.com.

Arne Ronald Robert JussilaFor Arne Ronald Robert Jussila, age 79, joy came in the morning on

February 5, 2013, at home in Brush Prairie, WA, where he resided for 40 years.

Around

this time he became known to his family as “Ronny”. Eventually, moving to Calumet, Arne graduated from Calumet High

School. At that time, he said “Uncle Sam drafted him to The United States Army,” and often stated that he served for “1 year 11 months and 15 days.”

He continued serving stateside in the reserves for six more years, during which time the last four were spent sailing the Great Lakes on the iron ore

carriers. While in the service, he learned his lifelong trade of heavy equipment operating. It was said what most men needed to do with a grader, Arne would do better with his bulldozer.

He was preceded in death by his father Arnie Jussila Sr., mother Lillian (Kangas) Jussila Wolfe, stepfather William Wolfe, rst wife Ruth (Somero) Jussila, sister Shirlee Infurna, and twin sons Joseph and Reuben.

The Goddard School raises funds for

Ronald McDonald House Charities To celebrate 25 years of ser-vice in early childhood educa-tion, The Goddard School Van-couver (Salmon Creek) kicked off the national organization’s 25th anniversary festivities with a special fundraising campaign to beneit Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Chil-dren, families and friends of the school participated in a silent art auction of the children’s art cre-ations to raise more than $1,000 to support RMHC. “Having our children in-volved in this charity program made this partnership a truly worthwhile experience,” said Michelle Solari, owner of The Goddard School Vancouver (Salmon Creek). “At The God-dard School, we seek to col-laborate with families to nurture respectful, conident and joyful learners. Our partnership with Ronald McDonald House Chari-ties supports our school’s com-mitment to provide children the skills they need for long-term success both in school and in

life.” The Goddard School Vancou-ver (Salmon Creek) was one of more than 390 Goddard Schools nationwide to participate in fundraising efforts to support RMHC nationally. Together, the schools raised a total of over $1,000. In addition to fundraising efforts, children at The God-dard School Vancouver (Salmon Creek) created birthday cards for the local, Portland/Vancou-ver RMHC chapter. The cards will be distributed throughout the year to pediatric patients or family members celebrating birthdays during their, or a loved one’s, hospital stay. For every card that Goddard Schools nationwide collected, Goddard Systems, Inc., donated $1 to RMHC (up to $25,000). In total, children at The God-dard School Vancouver (Salm-on Creek) made 65 cards for RMHC. For more information, visit www.goddardschool.com.
