Hours MonitoringWhat members are expected to monitor• Are they serving 40-45 hours a week?• Are they on track with hours?• If they are behind, what opportunities they have to do more service?

What program staff monitors weekly• Did members serve less 6 hour days?

– If so, was it documented correctly• Did members serve more than a few 8.5 hour days?• PTO requests

What program staff monitors at mid term• Summary of hours• Overall PTO

Explanation of AveragesAdequate Progress Averages

• 36/37 hour a week averages account for PTO and holidays• To maintain these averages members need to be serving more hours (40-45

hours)

Monitoring Averages

OnCorps Averages• Not accurate for CHC/HCC since they are on 2 week periods not bi-monthly

Tracker Averages• Do not account for PTO or Holidays

Page 6: The Goal Line 1700 Hours. PSO Recap – CHC Measuring Progress Members should serve 40-45 hours/week Acceptable progress – Average hours per week served

Ways members fall behind• Consistently serve 7 to7.75 hours days (lunch breaks do not count

as hours)– multiplied by 25 weeks adds up

• Occasional 6 hour days• Holidays• PTO• Site closures for inclement weather

– No hours– Shorter hours

• The weather in general

Things to factor into progress• Program restrictions

- 100 hours outside service- 340 (20%) training hours – includes in-service days and CHC/HCC sponsored

events

• Holidays - 2 remaining AmeriCorps – Memorial Day– 4th of July

- Members can earn hours at their host site or outside service on holidays

• PTO remaining– Variable by member– Requests will not be approved unless member has made significant progress

towards getting on track (as stated in handbook)

Page 8: The Goal Line 1700 Hours. PSO Recap – CHC Measuring Progress Members should serve 40-45 hours/week Acceptable progress – Average hours per week served

Example

• Behind = 50 hours• Average needed = 39.18 hours/week• Personal Goal = 42 hours/week• Adequate Progress (37/wk) = Week 35– Still need to be putting in 40-45 hours/week

• If serve 42 hours every week, total hours = 1762– Minus 2 AmeriCorps Holidays = 1746– Minus 3 PTO days = 1722

your host site – look for Saturday/evening events

• Attended CHC/HCC sponsored events* • Seek outside service• Seek outside training/development– Lectures, networking events, conferences

• You can only edit approved or pending hours(Columns D+E)

• Enter your hours (approved and pending) at the end of the day on Friday or first thing on Monday

Page 12: The Goal Line 1700 Hours. PSO Recap – CHC Measuring Progress Members should serve 40-45 hours/week Acceptable progress – Average hours per week served

Testing the Tracker

• I input number based on the ‘weeks served’ report I received from OnCorps on 2/17

• Double check the hours!

• Enter your hours this weekend to test the math (Row 28 – Week 26 – Goal Hours = 925)– Let me know if there are issues. – Today’s hours – 9:00 - ?; all training
