    The Best Dayof My Life

    By Manal Albaradi(Saudi Arabia)

The best day in my life was my graduationday. I was so happy and what made me happier waswhen I saw all my family around me happy for me. Iwas so proud of myself. I didn’t  sleep that nightbecause I was thinking how I was going to celebratethe day and what I would wear. At the end of thatday, I started thinking what I would do in my new lifeand where I would work.

My HeroBy Shrooq Alqulayti (Saudi Arabia)

My hero is prophet Muhammad (peace andblessing be upon him). Prophet Muhammad is thegreatest person who has walked the earth. He is likean angel. He was born in 570 CE in the city ofMecca. He guided us to Islam. He protected men’s,women’s and children’s rights. He taught us how tocoexist with Muslims and non-Muslims and practicenon-discrimination and justice. Also, he told us weshould help the needy, visit the sick, and love andexchange advice between people. He prohibitedMuslims from killing innocent people and hurting theirneighbors, animals, and trees. In conclusion, he wasa faithful teacher, a good father, an outstandinghusband, a faithful friend, a strong believer, a socialand political reformer, and the best of friends. I lovehim more than myself and any person in the world.

Happy DayBy Naimah Alzamanan (Saudi Arabia)

I had a happy day one year ago when Itraveled to Saudi Arabia. I missed my family. I missedmy country. After I got married, I just sat for ten daysin Saudi Arabia and then I traveled to Nashville. I wasafraid of living in America. I don’t know why I wasafraid. Maybe I wanted my mom and sister. Life wasdifficult in the beginning living in Nashville. I called myfamily every day. I said, “I want to travel to Saudi

Arabia because I have no friends and no study inNashville.” My mom always cried because shewanted me in Saudi.

In the month of June, I traveled to Saudi Arabia. I packed my bag five days before traveling,

and traveled to Saudi. I visited my mom and sisterand my friends. It was a happy day. My grandmotherhugged me and cried a lot. My family was happybecause of me. My sister and brother boughteverything I wanted. I was happy a lot because Ivisited my family.

    GoalsBy Maria Castro Moran (Mexico)

I think in the life there are many goals—long-term and short-term goals. Never stop making goalsbecause this helps the feeling of happiness. A lifewithout goals in one route—a route that kills the spirit.Life is great and has many possibilities. Theimportant question is: what do I do to finish mygoals? Do them!

Many young people go through life lostbecause they do not stop to think about what, how, when, and where they will complete their goals. Theyhave options, but they do not have a hero to look toand model. They do not talk with them.

The Best HeroBy Abad Abugumiza (Palestine)

First, the best hero for me and all of theMuslims from the beginning of the universe to theend is the Messenger (peace be upon him). Whenpeople asked about his manners he said he followedthe Holy Qur’an.

I will write about this only briefly now. If Iwrote about the prophet it would take my entire life, and even this would not show my love for him. Mylove exceeds any amount of money, my body andblood, my father and mother, and everything that hasvalue. It is too high and hard to recount. Also, I wouldnot give him the right description. I am very deficient;forgive me, Messenger of God. Please make myfamily and me and friends who accompanied himstand on the Day of Resurrection.

My writing now is a poem for the MessengerMohammed (peace be upon him). All hearts tend toyour beloved and me with this witness and guide. If Isaid “Muhammad,” knowledgeable tears would flow. The messenger of Allah is guidance for each of theworld’s messengers. This is the messenger of Godand the lord of the worlds. God bless you, myknowledge of walking guide. This writing fails tocompare to him and all my love. This is my best hero.

Dear MomBy Hala Baabdullah (Saudi Arabia)

Dear Mom, thank you for helping me in all mylife when I was with you. Thank you for listening tome when I talked a lot to you. Thank you for teachingme good manners and how to be a good girl. Thankyou for loving me. For example, I remember when Imarried and came to the USA, you were so sad andcried a lot. I am sorry for that. I remember when youwoke me to eat, study, and go with you. I miss thesedays when I came home and saw you and my dad

and ate lunch with you. Thank you for everything youdo for me. I love you so much. Sincerely, from yourlittle daughter: Hala.

Relatives gather in the morning and we playour music and dance and distribute beverages,

desserts, and offer a dinner at the end of themarriage. The bride and groom go to their house andthe marriage is complete. After marriage, we travel tospend our honeymoon in the most beautifulmoments. I love this day. Often every year wecelebrate the anniversary of our marriage.

Carnaval, My Favori te HolidayBy Flavio Sampaio Rofino (Brazil)

In Brazil, on the final day in February, wecommemorate the Carnaval. This is a big party whenschool and universities close. However, some peoplework on this day. In my opinion, this is the best party

of the year. The people travel to the beach or to thecountry.

The best Carnaval is in São Paulo, Rio deJaneiro, and Bahia. Hundreds of people go to thestreet to celebrate the Carnaval. Many people getvery, very drunk. It’s a real party. In Rio De Janeiroand São Paulo, they have a “Desfile das Escolos deSomba” which is a special party. The world watchesthe Carnaval. The “Escolos de Somba” is a schoolthat spends a lot of money on imagining thecelebratory floats. They compete with other schoolsto see who will be the best. The Prophet Muhammad  Yusuf Khoja (Saudi Arabia)

The Prophet Muhammad was born in Meccain 570. His father died before he was born. Hismother died when he was six years old. He workedas a herdsman. Then he worked in trading.

In 610, when the Prophet was forty years old,

he went to the Mountain of Hiva near Mecca. According to Muslim teachings, the angel Iibrail“Gabriel” spoke with him in a cave on the  mountain.

After that he started Islam in Mecca. He spent 13years speaking for Islam. After he immigrated fromMecca to Medina, he spent 10 years calling people toIslam.

Then he created the law of Islam such asfasting and prayer. About Prayer – we have five timesto pray in a day: pray al fagr, second al zuhr, third alasv, fourth al maghrib, and fifth al ishaa. Concerningfasting – all Muslims during Ramadan do not eat ordrink anything from sunrise to sunset. Ramadan lasts

for 30 or 29 days.In 630 AD, on June 8, the ProphetMuhammad became very sick, so he died. Althoughthe Prophet Muhammad died, Islam soon spread allover the Middle East. Then centuries later, itcontinued till it reached Africa, Asia, and Europe.Today in the world there are 1.62 billion Muslims. So,maybe 23% of the world’s population follows theteachings of the Prophet Muhammad.

walk well. After that, I went to the hospital. Myhusband was so excited because he was close tohaving a new baby. I stayed there for forty-two hoursbefore the beginning of a new life.

After my son was born, it was the mostbeautiful moment in my life. Now, he is six monthsold, His name is Faisal.

People from Other CountriesKhaled Aljulayfi (Saudi Arabia)

There are many reasons that I like to makefriends with people from other countries. Because Ilive in the United States, I want to practice English, and I want to know the culture. I have two friends inthe United States. They help me. We go to the gymevery day, and we eat dinner together. They told methey would like to visit my country. They want to seeall of my country. Every person needs to make

friends from other countries because friends arehelpful. I didn’t have a friend from another countrybefore, but I came here and I know friends from othercountries.

Many people in the United States arefriendly, and I like life in America. Some peopleshould make friends. I told my brother he shouldmake friends from other countries.

    FriendsSara Valenzuela (Colombia)

I think that it is very important to make friendsfrom all over the world because we should alwayslearn about their cultures, personality, technology, education, etc. Then we will have more experienceand knowledge.

When we meet people sometimes we likethem, but sometimes we don’t like someone becausewe are not the same and we don’t think the same. So, we should be friendly, quiet, honest, and knowanother’s qualities, for then we can have a goodrelationship.

For example, in this moment I’m studying atIEI. We are many people from many differentcountries, and I like to make friends from Saudi

Arabia – they are Nahima, Nada, and Khaled.Qingzhi is from China, and Hana is from Japan. Weare studying together in grammar, writing, andconversation class, but it is a little complicated with

our languages. When we are experts and finish theyear we can understand more about each other. My best friend at IEI is Yury. She is very

smart, a hardworker, and a mother. Her family is verybeautiful because I met her husband. But I haven’tmet her children yet. We understand a lot when wedo our homework and talk. They are from ElSalvador.

In conclusion, I advise you to look for morefriends and learn about them. I need to talk andexpress myself more because I am shy. That is notgood. “Oh!” We should keep making friends at ourschool. Friends are from Brazil, USA, and Argentinaand they can talk about their experiences.

You Should Make FriendsElaf Tayeb (Saudi Arabia)

First of all, you should make friends if youlive in the same area. It is good for your feeling. If youdon’t have a friend you will be lonely. I enjoy makingfriends. It is helpful for you. You can speak, learn, and see people.

Last year, I knew a new friend in the UnitedStates. She was friendly and her heart was verywhite. I learned English from my friend due to the factthat she didn’t speak Arabic. She spoke English andIndian. It was good for me. However, my friendchanged cities, and I was crying because I didn’thave any friends. I was alone. Then I told myhusband that I wanted to see people because I wasbored with myself. After that, I talked with myneighbor, and I see her every day in the gym.

After that, I made friends with Arabic people.I see them every week. They are very good people. Itis important for me to see them. We are great friends,

and we study, cook, play, and clean together. In conclusion, if you don’t have any friendsyou should make some. If you don’t know how to talk;for example, you can start with “How are you?” or“Hello.” You can begin with anything. You shouldchoose a good friend for you, if you have a lot of timeto make friends. You can talk to people in yourapartment. It is necessary for you. So, I have a lot offriends in my country and in other countries. I havemany memories.

    WRITING FOUR

Generation Between Past and Now Abdlalah Filfilan (Saudi Arabia)

Why almost old person didn’t understand a new person? If weunderstand some similarities and differences between these people, we canapproach minds together perhaps often times. Also we can reduce the points ofcontentions, at least between those in this time. All generations through the ageshave several similarities and differences. Generally they have similarities about

goals, but they have different about education.

At first, the goals between my generation and grandparent’s seem normal and look like same. Both planning of generations about building a new family are same way, also getting married and havingchildren are the same. All generations like to do that. Maybe we have a little bit of difference about time;the grandparent’s get married earlier than my generation. But the goal of building family is still same. Inaddition, getting a job is common a goal for all generations. For example in my grandparent’sgeneration, they try to find job earlier, after graduation from university they such as my generation.Furthermore, getting a new home is the same goal. For instance, when I get job and good married. I willplan to find a new home like the nest of a bird. Also we have a little bit of differences; finding house attime of grandparent’s is earlier than my generation.

On the other hand, because being different time or age we will find a lot differences especially onthe topic of education. The way of education is different, like school and how they are educated. Forexample, grandparent’s generation didn’t have a beautiful school building. Also they didn’t have a newcurriculum. They had old buildings and places.

Moreover, when someone wants to educate or teach his student or children at time ofgrandparent’s generation, he was to being a hard way with force, like what happened to Oliver Twist? Itis one of the stories by author Dickens that may tell us some kind of what the grandparents suffer fromdifficulties scholarships, but nevertheless they was get a good results. However, in my generation, it’sdifferent. If someone wants to educate or teach his student or children, they will do easy way, but maynot get better results. For instance, hitting student at the school was customary in the grandparents’generation, but now it’s forbidden. Therefore we can see different results. Another difference is most

students during time of grandparent’s generation didn’t like to continue get ting Ph.D. In my generation, more than one person likes to take two Ph.D. not only one because the experiences were changing andthe requirements of labors were changing also.

In conclusion, after comparing the goals between grandparents and my generation, we havesimilar ways such as building family, house and getting a job. However, we have difference education: ateaching way with results and about who wants to continue studying. In my opinion, we can take benefitsby gather together because history always repeats itself, so we will take a best idea and experience fromolder people to build a future of younger people.

     Anger Afnan Aljarallah (Saudi Arabia)

Some people feel angry for simple reasons; some people feel angry for special reasons. Thereare many reasons that may change your life for ever if you get angry. It can make you lose your friendsand a affect on your good manners.

Anger can make you lose your friends. If you get angry with your friends many times, you mightlose one of them by screaming at them or not respect them. Also, some times your pest friends mayforgive you, but you should take care of them and explain what you want, what is the bad thing you don’twant, or what is bothering you. For example, my best friend has always gotten angry for simple reasons. However, she some time doesn’t listen to my advice. After that, we have an argument. Then we don’t talkand see each other for two months.

The anger is not good for your manners. First, you will lose control, so you will say bad words. When you say bad words, people will think bad things a bout you. After that, maybe it will affect your job.If your job requires you to be patience, you should bear the difficulties of your job.

In conclusion, anger may make you lose your friends and affect on your good manners. In myopinion, relax and don't think a lot of simple things. Additionally, you have to just do your work with outany stress because it's good for you to be happy in your life.

people have bad surprises. There are two ways to definesurprise.

Good surprises are when people feel happy insideand when people see something nice. For example my familyand friends prepared an excellent party on my birthday. So for

me it was a good surprise because I saw many balloons, a lot of food, and my favorite cake. So in thismoment, I felt happy because I didn’t expect this surprise. Also my family and my friends said enjoy yourspecial birthday. Then they sang happy birthday. Finally, I thanked all for this surprise.

People have bad surprises. For instance, when a tornado comes, all people are surprisedbecause the tornado destroys houses. Cars and many trees fall to ground, so the tornado creates baddisasters.

There are two ways define surprises for all the people. People have both good and badsurprises in time. In my opinion, people feel happy because they have nice surprise in special moments Ithink a surprise makes you feel great and remember that moment.

    PeaceMashael Alsubaie (Saudi Arabia)

Mahatma Gandhi said, “Each one has to find his peace fromwithin. And peace to be real must be unaffected by outsidecircumstances”. Peace is one of many important things in our lives, andit can be defined in three ways: peace with yourself, peace in yourrelationships, and peace in country.

First, being at peace with your self is definition of peace. Sometimes we have many choice tochoose one of them, and we decide what we want. This time it make us nervous, and under stress. Butwhen we decide, we of course feel peace within.  For example, when someone graduated from highschool, and she beginning at university , she having to choose a major. In this time she being worried forher chosen, when she decided her major, she be at peace.

Secondly, we all have relationships. In these relationships, We have many arguments, andproblems. In the middle all these problems, we don’t feel peace. However, when we repair theseproblems, we feel peace. For example, when two people want a divorce, they feel sad because, theycan’t live together. When they divorce, they feel peace because each one can life how she wants.

Third, every one feels love for their country, so we like to live in country without something bad. When some countries have war, the citizens feel fear and sadness until end of the war. After that, thecitizens feel peace within themselves, and their country.

In conclusion, when we wake up in the morning, and we feel great, When we have a relation shipwithout problem, When we walk around our city, and feel save, We can define that as peace. Being at

    GenerationsMichelle Wang

It is so miraculous when people have their own children in life. Two or three generations can getmore happiness than a single generation in lifetime. However, every generation has their characteristicsand individuality. There are several similarities and differences between grand parents and children.

There are many similarities between grand parents and children. They have the same idea aboutfamily---Love. Like grandparents love parents, parent love children and children also love grandparentsand parents too. They love every person in the family and always help to each other. Likewise, the othersame idea is teach us how to be a good person. For example, grandparents taught parents to be honestand brave, working hard to study in school when they are young. Parents also to teach children the samethings. This is a perfect way to grow up to be a good person, and it is benefit of human development.

There are also differences between grandparents and children. Most grandparents go to sheepearly, but children always sleep late. On the other hand, grandparents never use a computer, childrenlike to use all technology, like Ipad. Additionally, grandparents like to save money by cooking at home, but children prefer to go out have lunch or dinner or traveling on the vacation. It is a different custom ofeach generation.

The similarities and differences such as same ideas and different habits between grandparents andchildren are numerous. They are changing so fast with the human culture and people’s thought. However, it doesn’t matter what are differences between different generations because they are a familyand love each other forever.

Faithfulness in Life  Nada Alsaedi (Saudi Arabia)

Why is faithfulness important in our lives? There are many positiveeffects of faithfulness including keeping a good job and making your familyhappy. Everyone likes faithfulness, but what is faithfulness? Faithfulnesscan be defined in two ways.

First, one definition of faithfulness is keeping your promises. For example, when the person makesfriendships, he/she wants to make promises to keep these friendships forever. Also, they need to givetheir family promises to make them happy. To keep our promises to our family and friends, we can’tcause any trouble for them. An example is when a husband marries his wife, he promises to make herhappy. The husband should help his wife to clean the house because there won’t be any problems. Weshould do every thing to keep our promises and make them happy.

Second, another definition of faithfulness is honesty and showing the truth. For example, studentsneed to be honest with their teachers because the teachers can help them. Also, the teachers need toshow true information to the students to develop their skills and give them more knowledge. In addition,we need to be honest with our family and friends to make them happy. Honesty is important in our lives.

In conclusion, faithfulness can make a happy life for everyone in the world. Keeping your promisesand being honest are to two ways to define faithfulness. It is an important virtue for us because itdevelops trust in relationships and makes your family happy in the future.

     AngerRawan Nahas (Saudi Arabia)

Most people in the world have different actions and reactionsin their lives. Some people can be patient, and some get angryeasily. Angry people can’t live as well as the normal people can.

Anger is a normal feeling. There are many ways to define anger.

Anger is a bad attitude in the life of angry people becauseanger people can’t control what they say. For example, they say bad words without thinking. However, their mind stops thinking when they get angry. In addition, if they stop in crowed places, and they get tooangry and say negative words, it shows their bad attitude.

Angry people may lose their job when they get out of control and turn destructive. Also, they do notfollow the rules at work. They have always believed they are in the right. For example, when they are latefor work, and the manger complains, the worker gets angry. They think the manger is uses irresponsibleabout themselves, and they always do not accept mistakes and others opinions. They are angry all thetime because of the simplest things. Finally, the important thing for them is to win and be right. They arenot worried about their job.

For all of these reasons, angry people need help to live as normal people. They must get rid of theirbad attitude, and they should learn how to controlthemselves to keep from losing work. Anger hasbecome a common problem these days because of thestress and the struggle that people are facing. We haveto control ourselves, try to avoid anger, and try to avoidleads to it before it destroys us.

Theater or Home Waad Alfadhil (Saudi Arabia)

Last week when I went to theater and yesterday Iattended movie on TV, I saw many differencesbetween theater and TV at home: cost, quiet andcomfort, food.

Money is important when there is no money, so there is no film in theater. However the cost ontheater we should give money, but in home we shouldn’t give a dollar. You have to have tickets in

theater, yet in home it’s free. My friend said “I want watch movie, but I don’t have money to buy ticketthen I went to home to watch film in TV with my friend ”.

I think in home it is quieter than in theater. There are a lot of voices. In home it is comfortable. Youhave your couch to sit on, a table to put your food, and your blanket to hug when you cry. One day Iwatched movie in theater, the chair was solid, and I cannot see when I ate my food. After that my legshurt and fell sleep. Also couldn’t put my food anywhere, because the chair was made for soda only.

In addition home is the perfect place for comfort and quietest more than theater. The theater’s foodis only fast food, but in home we can make a heathy food, for example, popcorn or sandwich. Also inhome there are no bacteria or recurring like in the restraint of theater .

In conclusion, the home is the best for cost, quiet and comfort, and for food. I like home and Ialways chose it.

Peace For Our Lives VinhPhuc Phan (Vietnam)

Today, there are too many conflicts going on in the world, it is destroying thelives of many people. Most of the conflicts started from personal reasons becausethey can’t solve problems in peace. That is why peace is very important. Peace can

be defined in three ways: non‐

    violence, harmony and quietness.

Non‐ violence is when people do not use violence in any circumstances. That means if you have aconflict with another person, let’s discuss together to find out a solution. Never use violence againstanyone in any situation. This creates peace.

Harmony means living with people kindly. Be nice to everyone around, and everyone will also benice to you. Always try to become a trusted person and live in harmony with others. Harmony is a way tomake peace.

Quiet people always keep peace in mind. Quiet does not mean silence; it means calm. Keep calmfrom disturbance, or interruption by others. A person who keeps calm inside will avoid unnecessarytroubles and will have a better life.

As you can see, using non‐ violence, keeping quiet in mind and living in harmony makes peopleavoid conflicts, so the world will no longer be violence. And that is the peace for our lives

Making your own businessFaris Alharbi (Saudi Arabia)

Would most people rather work for themselves or work forpublic places? People have different opinions. Some of them liketo be hired for a job. Others like to make their own business. Some studies say that people who work for themselves are moresuccessful in their lives than who work for public place.

Making your own business is mandatory to start our real life.We should think about what the best is to begin our lives bychoosing a good beginning of our lives. One reason to own asmall business is the ability to direct the culture of your company

(INC). For example, my brother used to work for public place so he didn't have that much money to start

his life very well. He had thought about making small business but he was scared. My fatherencouraged him to make his business than he opened the small business. As a result, he now has agood company. Furthermore, he helps my family in order to have a great life.

Having your own business means that you can control your own destiny and you are able to makea decision. When you work for public place, you are not able to choose whom you work with. On theother side, when you own your business you can hire or fire whomever you want. For Example, let usimagine that there is guy who is name is Jason. Jason is genius and creative. However, he does nothave his own business how can he take advantage of his intelligence. On the other hands, if he has hisown business, he will be able to make his decision and implement his ideas.

We also can choose the people work with. When we own our business that we are able to choose

people, if we do not like to work with some people , we could choose others . We are in charge

All in all, people who own their own business are successful and they are responsible.Furthermore, they can make their life right. People who have their own business, can risky in theirbusiness. Sometimes we might lose our business once; on otherwise we earn more. in business ‘life youare looking forward to losing any time. However, after you lose first time that you won`t do the samemistake again ,which is the lesson , will make you more successful.

Dance is the Key to Happiness   Ana Maria Benitez Mejia (Honduras)

What does dance mean? Well, there is not a specific meaning for dance. Each person canhave a different meaning. People don’t like to dance; other people dance just for fun, but for me dance isthe best way to feel like myself. Dance fills me with happines.

When i have problems or when my heart is sad i just dance until i get tired. So many years ago aphicologie find that the fisic activitie and sports practices give us a lot of beneficie to our bod (AnnaGimeno.) Dance can help you in different ways. It helps you to forget your problems, to feel peace inyour heart and feel like yourself. First, when you are dancing your mind and your boby get so happy thatyou get lost in the music and that makes you forget about your problems. I’m not saying dance will solveyour problems, but it can help you forget about them for a moment. For example, 3 years ago i had a bigproblem in highshcool with my best friend. I still remember that day, i went home, to my room, i turned

the music laud and i danced for two hours. I forget my problem for that moment and that alsp helped meto think better about the problem. Second, some people don’t have peace in their hearts. Maybe it isbecause they can’t find it. Somentimes we try to find peace in the place and is not about the pleace, isabout you, you need to find peace inside of you, in your heart. Dance can bring you peace in your heart. When you dance you just fallow themusic and you feel free. It does’t matter the kind of music, you justneed to dance what you like and the peace will come to you. When you love what you do, you will alwaysfind peace in your heart. (Paulo Coelho.) Thirt, It’s hard to talk about ourself because not everybody actslike themselves, some people don’t act like themselves because they care about what people think so,they prefer to be what other people said and not what they feel. Dance is a creative way to express andconect with ourself, what we have inside. (Anna Gimeno.) There are other people that pretend to be aperson that they are not, that is the reason that they never find theirself. When i dance is the best way tofeel myself, i’m very outgoing and sometimes the day is not enough to take out my energy so i just come

home and dance. Also dancing i can do wherever i want to and nobody will tell me hoe to dance. Somepeople dance in their room because they don’t want anybody to look at them. Other people dance in theshower because it is the way tofeel like themselves but idance everywhere i gobecause i don’t care whatpeople think and i will be myselfwherever i go don’t matterwhat. Martha Graham afamoce dancer said “Nobodycares if you can’t dancewell. Just get up and dance.

Great dancer are not greatbecause of their techique, theyare great because of theirpassion.”

Privilege in the USBy Mohammad Alajmi (Saudi Arabia)

In life we have our privileges in one way or another. Nonetheless, in the United Statesmany people have different privileges which set them apart. Those privileges are many; themost popular are the following: color, religion and lifestyle choices.

First of all, many people have suffered from racial issues because of their skincolor. For instance, back in late 2014 or 2015 many have gotten enraged because of police

officer brutality in Baltimore. An officer killed a black man for a less serious cause or offence.Had Freddie Gray not suffered grave injuries and then death, many riots and strikes wouldnot have taken place against police judgment. Therefore, you shouldn’t act or feel superiorbased on your race or color.

Also, most Americans have religious beliefs. While there are also many people whohave many religious beliefs, the majority is Christian and that means most citizens havetolerance toward Christianity. That means they may not follow or consider other religiousbeliefs. Therefore, if you are Christian and American as well, you have certain kinds of trustand privilege that no one else has.

In addition, in America, lifestyle choices have its own weight by trivial factors such

      20

as clothes and vacation destinations and even cars! This is because some people have theprivilege to spend their vacation in DC and Virginia while others go to Las Vegas and Los

Angeles. In the meantime, a lot of people plan their vacation by wandering around theirhome state. What does that indicate?! It tells a little story about the capability of the majorityof American people while they are living in the States. Also, many people can afford NorthFace brand while others go to Ross. Moreover, this can be a huge factor in deciding people’s

personality and ethics. Many people care about the car too much to the extent that they buythe most expensive model. Conversely, others consider the car a mere way or medium fortransportation.

In summary, the privileges in the US may differ from one person to another. However, the major privileges are three as the following: race or certain family background that mayseem far superior than others, religion with deference to Christianity, and lifestyle choiceswhich means differences in life standards among people. Therefore, the privileges can varyfrom one person to another.

The Leader: Loved or Feared? By Mijin Jeong (South Korea)

Some people think the best leader forces people to focus on their goal. That

leader gets authority from people’s fear. It’s a good way to control the group. However,in my opinion, it is the best method to lead by a person who is loved by their group. Thereason is that the leader who is feared interferes with people’s free thinking. Also, peopledon’t follow the leader who gives them fear.

First of all, people need the leader when they achieve a certain goal together. It’sa goal that makes people better or gives them success. People have a lot of thinkingabout reaching their goal. The leader can help people create their thinking or ideas moreclearly. The leader who is loved makes the group’s atmosphere comfortable, so it’shelpful for people to create their idea. However, the leader who is feared forces peopleto only think about their goal. People usually don’t make a good idea when they havepressure from someone. Therefore, in terms of the group’s view, it’s better to have the

leader who receives love from people.

On top of that, people don’t follow the leader who is feared. People have differentways of thinking or opinions and they really want to convey their ideas freely. The leaderwho is feared disturbs people’s explanations of their ideas, because people usually feara person who tries to control them. Since the leader plays an important role to expresspeople’s ideas, it’s a big problem if people don’t want to follow the leader. If people don’tfollow the leader, the group doesn’t attain their aim. That’s why the group needs theleader to get their purpose.

In summary, the leader who is loved makes people achieve their aim to helppeople think more freely and get together for achieving their purpose. Therefore, I think

the leader who is loved is better than the leader who is feared.

At first, the governmentofficials denied anything was wrong, but theychanged after many children in Flint had elevatedlevels of lead in their blood since the water switch. So, they found the reason that as it traveled throughthe city’s aging pipes, many which contain lead, thewater ate away at the pipes, absorbing the leadbefore pouring out of showerheads and taps.
