The Franklin Institute Awards
What do Nikola Tesla, Marie Curie, Frank Lloyd Wright, Jane Goodall, and BillGates have in common? They have all been honored by The Franklin Institute Awards,
the Institute’s 195-year-old program to recognize the greatest achievements in science,
engineering, and industry. Through our Awards Program, we honor the legacy of our
namesake, Benjamin Franklin, by celebrating those who reflect his ingenuity and
trailblazing spirit. To date, 120 Franklin Institute laureates have also been honored with
Nobel Prizes, including two members of our Class of 2019. Learn more about theFranklin Institute Awards, and meet our 2019 laureates!

To kick off Awards Week (April 8–11), three of the 2019 Franklin Institute Awards
laureates (including Frances Arnold!) will present From Inspiration to Impact, on
Monday April 8, from 6:00–7:15 pm. This FREE, special edition of our monthly Speaker
Series is moderated by Dr. Donald Morel, Jr., engineer, materials scientist, and chair of
the Institute’s board of trustees. Register here »
Then, meet many of our medalists and learn first-hand about their work at Laureates’
Laboratory on Tuesday, April 9 from 11:00 am–12:45 pm.
Tickets are still available for The Franklin Institute Awards Ceremony & Dinner, our
annual black tie fundraising gala honoring this long-distinguished program, being held on
Thursday, April 11.
