Weekly Collection

The collection for 12/17 was not

available at time of publication. It will be

in next weeks bulletin. Thank you for

your continued and generous support.

_______________________________________________

The members of the Knights of Columbus,

Mary Immaculate Council #12769 and the

members of Msgr. Peter B. O’ Connor

Assembly #1543 would like to thank you for

your outstanding support throughout the year assisting us

with our various programs. From Feeding the Hungry,

Eyes for the needy, Our seminarians, Coats for Kids,

Alzheimer program, Veteran’s Programs and the list goes

on and on. Without the support of the community and the

church we could not be as successful as we are.

We also thank Fr. Vic, Fr. Rolando and the rest of the

church staff for supporting our activities throughout the

year.

May God Bless each and everyone of you and may you all

have a Merry Christmas and a Blessed and Happy New

Year. May we see world peace in this coming new year.

Did You Know?

Did you know that the chopping down of the Christmas

tree represents the death of Christ and putting it back up

again represents the Resurrection of Christ. Did you know

that the wreaths we hang are never ending circles, that

represents Eternity? Candy canes were made to look like

shepherd hooks and the colors red, Jesus’ blood, white

purity. The gifts, represents the 3 gifts the Wise Men

brought for Jesus. So when you are running around trying

to get the “perfect gift’, stop yourself, take a deep breath

and remember we have been given the perfect gift, Jesus

Christ was given to us to remove all of our sins...MERRY

CHRISTMAS

THE HOLIDAYS ARE OFTEN VERY DIFFICULT FOR PARENTS WHO HAVE LOST A CHILD. THEREFORE, PLEASE PUBLISH THE TEXT BOX BELOW STARTING NEXT WEEK AND ALL

FOLLOWING WEEKS UNTIL FEBRUARY 11, 2018:

The Offices of Family & Respect Life are offering a Morning of Healing to support families who have

experienced the loss of a child due to miscarriage, stillbirth or neo-natal death. We invite all parents, siblings, grandparents and others who are affected by the loss of a baby, either recently or long ago. Perinatal loss involves emotional, relational and spiritual suffering that requires assistance from family, friends and church leaders. It touches the lives of many people yet all too often this tragedy remains unspoken of. We hope this day will

provide those who have been affected, a day to recognize their loss, to grieve with the support of others, gain knowledge about the process of grief and obtain related resources. The agenda for the day includes: Presentations on topics specific to perinatal loss, small group discussions, a memorial service, resources and fellowship. Most

of all, we pray that those affected by this heartbreak will discover healing and hope. Babysitting, lunch and refreshments will be provided at no cost.

When: Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 8:30a m - 12:30pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Ave., Bloomfield, NJ. Must register online at: http://Events.rcan.org/PerinatalLoss/
