This story is part of Revelation, the last book in the Bible, and is a vision from John of Patmos. John talks about the second coming of Jesus. There are “seven seals” of the apocalypse, and the first four consist of 4 horsemen. They are commonly known as Conquest, War, Famine, and Death.

This story is important in history, because it helps provide a possible picture of what end times will be like, and also provides writers with material to draw from and allude to.
