Foundation Represented in the Workforce Institute at Kronos

The Foundation continues to enhance the workplace by implementing valuable services and useful management systems such as Kronos. Due to its demonstrated exemplary use of this tool, the Foundation was recently selected to join the Workforce Institute at Kronos, a global company that helps organizations drive performance by addressing human capital management issues that affect both hourly and salaried employees. The Workforce Institute’s goals are to:

• Provide innovative and valued content• Help employers provide employees with a better experience at work• Elevate organizational perception of the importance of the hourly workforce to

organizational success• Demonstrate measurable business impact for organizations who implement best

practice recommendations.

Dennis Miller, Chief Employment Officer of the Foundation, was selected to be part of the nine-member advisory board for the Workforce Institute. The board is a prestigious group of leaders from a variety of fields including Mark Wales, Vice President of Workforce Management for Ralph Lauren, and Susan Meisinger, former President and Chief Executive Officer of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Dennis describes the chosen board members as a diverse group of “forward-thinking people with depths of knowledge.” His role is to represent higher education institutions.

In early December, the advisory board for the Workforce Institute travelled to Boston for their annual conference to share lessons, visions, and experiences about employee engagement, issues, and other related topics. This is the first year that the Foundation was part of the conference.

According to Dennis, the board discussed an array of matters affecting the workplace such as part-time employees, baby boomers, and the imminent “gig economy.” By being part of the advisory board, Dennis is able to “capture ideas and bring them to the Foundation.”

The Workforce Institute at Kronos also introduced and discussed their new book during the meeting, which Dennis plans on purchasing for the Foundation.
