Mr. Maberry is known for his Joe Ledger novels, the Pine Deep Trilogy, the Dead of Night series, the the smash hit young adult series Rot & Ruin, and his work with Marvel comics. If you haven’t read something by this edge-of-your-seat author, stop by the library and pick up a novel, audio book, or graphic novel. Line-up of Events: 9:00 – 12:00 pm: Thrills & Chills Writing Workshop (Reserve your seat on our website.) Thrills & Chills: Horror and Cross-Genre Thrillers-- Scary is back! Cross-genre thrillers that draw on elements of the paranormal and supernatural are burning up the bookshelves in the adult and young adult markets. Mr. Maberry shares the inside scoop on how to write and sell this new breed of fast-paced shiver-inducing cross-genre thriller. Register now on our website to reserve your seat. 3:30 – 4:30 pm: Teen Meet n’ Greet Teens only! Come have a cup of coffee with one of the world’s leading horror and young adult authors. 7:00 pm: Presentation & Book Signing Arrive early to secure a seat for Mr. Maberry’s presentation. Stop by for a cherry wink to celebrate President’s Day! *Pending Library Board approval, monthly Board meetings will be moving from the last Tuesday of the month to the last ursday of the month. Meet- ings start at 5:30 pm in the large meeting room at the Windsor Severance Library. Public comment is always welcomed. *You can pay your fines and fees online with a credit card. Clearview Welcomes Jonathan Maberry On Saturday, February 16, New York Times Bestseller and multiple award-winning author, Jonathan Maberry comes to Windsor! Mr. Maberry is known for his Joe Ledger novels, the Pine Deep Trilogy, the Dead of Night series, the the smash hit young adult series Rot & Ruin, and his work with Marvel comics. ZinioLike reading magazines, but don’t have time to stop by the library to check them out? Latest issue never there when you want it? Now you can read magazines at home or anywhere you go, on your laptop, tablet or other device by signing up for Zinio. And, you won’t have to wait for the latest issue to be returned by someone else! The Library has currently subscribed to 72 titles, Backpacker, Billboard, Consumer Reports, Food Network Magazine, Forbes and more. If you don’t see what you want, let us know and we’ll check to see if the Library can subscribe.

Some tips for first time users –

• You will have to create 2 logins, one when you click on the Zinio icon on our website and one when you select the first magazine for your collection.• Each time you want to add titles to your collection, you will need to go through the library’s website.• This is a free-to-you service brought to you by the Clearview Library District. If you get to a point where a credit card is required, back out and call the library for assistance. • You will get an email from Zinio for each title you select to inform you that your magazine is ready to view.• Zinio does not work with all versions of the Nook.• Zinio has a help document and a video to guide you through sign-up. If you need additional help, stop by and speak to our staff or call us at 970-686-5603.

Youth ProgrammingStory Time News

Beginning in February, the Windsor-Severance Library will begin offering a new storytime. For parents who can’t make it to the Wednesday morning Wee Read Storytime, we are pleased to offer another Wee Read session on Tuesday afternoons at 2:30 pm.

Also, don’t forget to join us for our special evening and weekend storytimes. Books Before Bed, on Thursday 2/7 at 7:00 pm will be exploring “Dots and Circles.” Crafty Tales, on Saturday 2/9 at 10:30 am will be playing with “Mustaches.” Evening and weekend storytimes are just the thing for the whole family to enjoy.

Little ones and their families are also invited to come play music with us on Friday, 2/22 at 10:00 am, as we get loud with our program, Let’s Play Music. This month also marks the exciting start of our new family bookclub, Read Together Grow Together, which will be having its first meeting on Friday, 2/15 at 10:00 am. Pennies

Come explore the history of pennies: how they’re made and how they’ve changed over time. Also, learn about fun things to do with the U.S.’s smallest denomination coin. Play games and partake in exciting experiments. Children and families with children, ages 6 to 12 are welcome to join us Tuesday 2/12 at 3:30 pm!

Electronics Lab

Sign-up on our website to attend one of two interactive learning labs on Wednesday, 2/27 at 4:00 and 5:30 pm. Participants will build live circuits with transistors, resis-tors, and capacitors during this hands-on lab for ages 8-14 years old.

Teens Discover the Slender Man

Have you seen the Slender Man? Here’s your chance! Teens ages 13-18 are invited to try their hand at finding the 8 mysterious manuscript pages that reveal the story of the mythos of the Slender Man on Friday, 2/22 at 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Play the popular game on the big screen, enjoy pizza, and then join forces with other teens to search for the pages without being caught by the Slender Man. Beware! He’s real, very real!

Online Time SaverFor many of us we are continually on a quest to or-ganize, de-clutter, de-stress, streamline, downsize, refocus. All of which will equal time saved and enable us to partake of the things that really matter in life. Clearview Library District can help you to organize your library account while you’re on the go. Visit the website at Clearviewlibrary.org to manage your account. Using your library card barcode and pass-word (which can be set when you visit the library) log in to your account. From there you can view which

items are checked out, when your items are due and renew them if needed. On the website you can also look items up, place holds, request an InterLibrary Loan and pay fines. Need to know when storytime is, what time the library closes or where the Book Mobile will be? Simply check the website. Whether you’re at work, at home or on the go with your cell phone, we make it easy to organize your library needs. Then you’ll have more time for the things that you love to do.

For those who enjoy YA, please join us in reading I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore and posting discussion online at our website. A book club kit containing 10 copies of the book is available at the circulation desk. Please ask staff to help you check out a copy from this kit! Then come to the library on Tuesday, February 26 at 6:00 pm to watch the movie in the large conference room. Feel free to bring a sack dinner. Popcorn and drinks will be provided.

For those who prefer adult titles, we are also reading Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen and posting all responses online. If all of the copies in the library are taken, please fill out an Interlibrary Loan form online and we’ll have a copy in your hands very soon! The movie, Water for Elephants will be shown on Tuesday, February 19 at 6:00 pm in the large conference room. Feel free to bring your own food! Popcorn and drinks will be provided!

Anyone may join us for the movie nights! You don’t need to read the books or be a part of the online book club to enjoy the movies!

BoMo Special Events:

Movie Night on the Bookmobile!On Friday, February 15, the bookmobile will be

parked at the After Hours Location (near McDon-ald’s on Main Street). Come enjoy free popcorn

and a 40 minute movie called The Gruffalo’s Child. The movie will start at 5:15 pm and then again at

6 pm. This is an ideal activity for preschool and school-age children, but all are welcome! See
