The Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project - ProBono

The Florence Project recruits, trains and mentors attorneys whograciously accept our cases on a pro bono basis. Pro Bono attorneysrepresent detained immigrants in removal proceedings in connectionwith our Florence, Eloy, and Children Programs. Depending on thestage of the proceedings, pro bono attorneys may appear before animmigration judge, the Board of Immigration Appeals, circuit courtsof appeal or federal district courts. Cases range in subject matterand include cancellation of removal for legal permanent residents, citizenship claims, adjustment of status for refugees, politicalasylum, Convention Against Torture relief, and acquiring SpecialImmigrant Juvenile Status. We also seek pro bono attorneys withcriminal law experience to seek post conviction relief inappropriate cases.

By representing detained immigrants, pro bono attorneys personallymake a difference in remedying the inequality of representation forindividuals in deportation proceedings. They also gain invaluableprofessional experience. If you have questions about our pro bono program or are interestedin accepting a case with us please contact our pro bono coordinatingattorney, Nancy Acevedo, [email protected] Bono Attorney ResourcesIndex of Training PresentationsGOVERNMENT WEBSITESU.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (Department of HomelandSecurity)U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (Department of Homeland
