Physical/human characteristics of Thailand
• Thailand is one of the most developed and wealthiest countries in Southeast Asia
• Thailand possesses tremendous natural and cultural diversity
• Agricultural land supports rice paddy, upland crops, para rubber, oil palm and perennial crops
Environment of Thailand
o How do humans interact with this environment:
o Humans earn their money through planting rice.
o The people are very poor and make $1,697 American dollars every year.
o 77% of their income is spent on food.o Logging has ruined the tropical
forests. o Bangkok has 9 million people living
there, and is now filled with traffic, sewage, pollution, and prostitution.
o The TV is an important part of family life.
o The literacy rate is very high; for females it is 90% and 96% for males.
o The most valuble possession is the motor scooter
o The climate is tropical, rainy, warm from Mid-May to September
o It is dry and cool from November to Mid- March
