Take-Out Church: Summer is here! Hopefully you’re able to get away or to relax a bit at home. Either way, consider taking with you our summer-time packet called “Take-Out Church,” meant for all ages! Because this year marks the 500th anniversary of the Reformation (thank you, Martin Luther!) we want to help you learn more about why being a Lutheran is so awesome—like: We are justified by faith through God’s grace! (Thank you, Jesus!) Adults and kids alike can participate! There are “kids’” pack-ets (in manila envelopes) that include crayons and a coloring book, jelly beans with conversation starters depending on the flavor you get, and a Flat Martin and Flat Katie to color and post pictures of on Facebook—even if you’re not a kid anymore, make sure you take one of these pack-ets! You’ll also need the adult packet that goes with it (in the clear Zip-loc bag) because it includes a copy of Luther’s Small Catechism and a leaflet of questions meant to guide you in discussion with your friends or family over coffee or juice, around the campfire, or while waiting for the fish to bite or the burgers to cook. We’ve made enough kids’ packets so that you can grab several of them for each person in your family or group to have; one adult packet per family or group, please! The pack-ets are available at church while they last. Questions? Contact me or Karoline White. Lego Luther Rose: I can’t tell you how excited I am for the Lego Luther Rose to be at our church from July 23rd through the 26th. It’s only here for a limited amount of time and, I can tell you from already having seen it, that it is pretty remarkable. Plan on staying after worship on July 23rd or come when the church is open during the day to work on a square or two, or if you’re here to prepare food for the fair, take a break and put together another square. This giant Lego Luther Rose will have to be dis-assembled on July 26th so that it can go to the next church that wants it—so it’s here for a brief time only. Come and take part in this once-in-a-lifetime event! Bold Generosity Campaign: You will soon hear about the synod’s new capital campaign called Bold Generosity. This 3-year, $1.2 million appeal is designed to strengthen all levels of leadership in congregations across our own synod so that all are equipped to live out Jesus’ message of love and reconciliation. The synod is inviting each of the 199 churches in our synod to participate at the congregational and individual levels, and all the money raised in this appeal (except for a tithe, which will be given to the Campaign for the ELCA) will stay within our synod! The appeal has six categories, each of which is meant to strengthen the churches and leaders and people of our synod—the potential for us to live out God’s mission through this campaign is exciting! Together, we can be God’s people—faithfully, lovingly, and courageously living out what God calls us to be and do in this new era. Please keep this campaign in your prayers and look for more information in next month’s Fisher. Have a blessed and safe summer! Pastor Ann 7

Fisher Sign up As you have probably heard the Fisher is going viral. We realize that not everyone wants to read it on line so if you would like a hard copy sent to you please fill out the form below. You can put the form in the offering plate, the office or mail it in. We will be happy to mail one out to you. Thank you!

THE FISHER

Bone Lake Congregation,

Hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather. We on the council are always discussing ways to continue to work to make Bone Lake a spiritually and fiscally strong church. As you have maybe heard, the Fisher Newsletter will not be mailed out to all after July. Our bulk mailing permit needs to be renewed at the end of July for the cost of around $220/year plus it costs about $37.00 each month to mail the newslet-ter in bulk mail. Then there is also the paper and ink used to print it. There will be a new format with smaller sized paper, no color and the newsletter can be printed on the copy ma-chine that is cheaper to op-erate. A way to cut costs. There will be a few copies made to be available at church, if you don’t have a computer and if requested a limited amount can to mailed out. A big THANK YOU to the dedicated ladies that have gathered to assemble the newsletter and seeing that the newsletter got to the post office every month, for a long time, your work has been very much appreci-ated. God Bless you faithful Gals. Wishing you all an enjoyable & safe summer. Martha Solfest Council Pres.

WORSHIP TEAM ASSISTANTS NEEDED FOR AUGUST:

For the month of August there is a shortage of Worship Team Assis-tants. There will be sign up sheets in the fellowship hall for anyone who can help out in August. Your help with this is greatly appreciated.

BONE LAKE LUTHERAN CHURCH WORSHIP MINISTRY

Ask, Thank, Tell by Charles R. Lane

This article will hopefully help you to understand that it is a privilege to be God’s steward. “How is God calling me to respond to His pres-ence in my life?” God has created it all and He continues to own all that is. Every-thing we own still belongs to God. We are given the privilege and responsibility to care for that which belongs to our heavenly Father. Psalms 24:1-3 The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it; For He has founded it on the seas, and established it on the rivers. Deuteronomy 8:17-19 Moses is reminding the Israelites; do not say to yourself, “My power and the might of my own hand have gotten me this wealth.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth. DO NOT FORGET TO THANK GOD WHEN THINGS ARE GO-ING GREAT! God still owns everything! We are the stewards of everything that belongs to God. To be a steward is to be in a place of high esteem and responsibil-ity. To be God’s steward is a privilege like few others. A steward cares for the possessions of the owner (God), both for the benefit of the owner and for the benefit of other people who de-pend on the owner for their well being. In other words, I ought to fo-cus my life on using the wealth that God has entrusted to me to help those who have less. How is God calling you to respond to His presence in your life? Re-member that we respond with our time, treasure and talents. Here are 6 values of a Biblical Giver from Chapter 4 of the book Ask, Thank, Tell by Charles R. Lane

1. Intentional giving- develop a plan for your giving and follow through.

2. Regular- Establish a pattern for giving and follow that pattern 3. Generous-2 Corinthians 9:8 (God gives abundantly so we

can share abundantly) 4. First- Deuteronomy 26:1-2, (Giving to God first) Remember

time, treasures and talents. 5. Proportional-Give into proportion to the blessing you have

received. 6. Cheerful-2 Corinthians 9-7 “God loves a cheerful giver”

Where your heart is, there your treasure will be also.

The Ask, Thank, Tell ministry team is still looking for members. The goal for the stewardship ministry is to help God’s people grow in their relationship with Jesus through the use of their time, treasures and talents that God has entrusted to them. Here is a little more on the description of what the steward ministry team: will be doing

Ask- describes all the dif-ferent ways people in our congregation are asked to consider the blessings God has entrusted to them, and how they feel called to re-spond to those blessings through their generous giv-ing of time, treasure, and/or talents. Thank- describes all the ways our congregation ac-knowledges with apprecia-tion the generous response of those who support the ministry we do together Tell- describes the many ways the congregation is made aware of the won-derful work we do together and how important each person’s support is to the ongoing work of ministry. Being on this team that glo-rifies everything God is do-ing in our lives will change your life. Please drop me an email if you’re interested. Sherri Schaffer [email protected]

SOLE BURNER WALK/RUN 2017 Bone Lake Church had another successful year at the annual Frederic-Luck ACS Walk/Run. It took place for the first time at the Frederic High School this year and was a wonderful joint effort of both communities in this fight against cancer. This year our team raised $1,073.00 and ranked #11 out of 25 teams. We had 11 par-ticipants registered on our team and those that walked on Satur-day, May 13th include Susan Gregorash, Lynn Gregorash, Ayla Gregorash, Bob Kruger, Jane Kruger, Judy Randall, Sarah Dueholm, Peggy Schilling, and Bill Schilling. The Frederic-Luck grand total amount of money raised was approximately $51,868.24. Thank you to all who donated and walked for this cause. Together we can fight cancer.

THANK YOU! On behalf of the Frederic-Luck Area ACS Sole Burner Walk Commit-tee, we thank you for having a team participating in the American Cancer Society Walk. Your team raised $1,073. The total amount of money raised for the day was over $50,000! Thank you for support-

ing caner survivors and raising funds to help eliminate cancer in the future. We hop to see your team again at the ACS Walk next year.
