Lent Libray

Please think about your spiritual development this Lent through reading.

There are many books to choose from in our Lent Library in the main Hallway next to the

Adoration Chapel. We ask you return each book as you finish to enable

to share with others.

Something to think about:

How am I called to reveal

the face of God’s mercy to the world?

Living Our Mission

Develops Future Leaders

Across the Diocese we have been blessed to see a

significant increase in young people participating in

the life of the Church. In order to respond to this

positive momentum, the Living Our Mission campaign

will build a fund for the current and future growth of

our youth and young adult ministry programs which

involve such opportunities as work camps, mission

trips, retreat experiences and enhanced speaker and

performer events. With this support, our Diocese will

foster transformational opportunities to root our

young people in the faith so they embrace Christ’s

mission in their early years and throughout their

lives.

Congratulations

Prayer to the Shoulder Wound of Jesus

O Loving Jesus, meek Lamb of God, I, a miserable sinner, salute and worship the most Sacred Wound of Thy Shoulder on which Thou didst bear Thy heavy Cross which so tore Thy Flesh and laid bare Thy Bones as to inflict on Thee an anguish greater than any other wound of Thy Most Blessed Body. I adore Thee, O Jesus most sorrowful. I praise and glorify Thee and give Thee thanks for this most sacred and painful wound, beseeching Thee by that exceeding pain and by the crushing burden of Thy heavy Cross, to be merciful to me, a sinner, to forgive me all my mortal and venial sins and to lead me on towards Heaven along the Way of Thy Cross. Amen. Meditations on the Seven Sorrows of Mary

1 The prophecy of Simeon (Luke 2:34 & 35) “Mother of

Mercy”, I thank you for your unconditional Yes to God’s plan.

Please help me to do the same.” Hail Mary … 2 The flight into Egypt (Mat 2: 13-14) Mother of Mercy, I

pray that you intercede for all God’s faithful children who are

being persecuted and have lost everything and for the

conversion of the ruthless murderers who persecute them. Hail Mary … 3 The loss of the Child Jesus in the Temple (Luke 2:43-45) Mother of Mercy, I pray that all lost children may be re-

united with their families or find foster parents who will love

and care for them and that those who abuse them will be

brought to justice and to conversion. Hail Mary … 4 The meeting of Jesus and Mary on the way to the Cross. Mother of Mercy, I pray that all caretakers who have to

watch their loved one’s sufferings may experience the Lord’s

love and consolation and receive help in carrying their cross. Hail Mary … 5 The Crucifixion Mother of Mercy, I thank you and our

Lord Jesus for this ultimate sacrifice and I pray for final

perseverance. Hail Mary … 6 The taking down of the Body of Jesus from the Cross Mother of Mercy, I pray for all who mourn the loss of their

loved ones; that they will open their hearts to receive the

love, consolation and healing power of our God. Hail Mary … 7 The burial of Jesus Mother of Mercy, I pray that all of

God’s faithful children receive the gift of a Christian burial in

consecrated ground. Hail Mary … Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy”
