YOU MAKE THE CALLA basketball goal is permanently mounted on the floor entirely outside the 6-foot allowance beyond the endline of the court. The goal is permanent in a vertical position.
A player chases a ball which brushes (a) the backboard (b) the standard of the pole-mounted backboard.

2014 RULE CHANGE
• The first referee may direct the line judge on the serving team’s side to move in line with the extension of the end line until the ball is contacted to gain a better view when a server serves from the left third of the service area.

• Normal whistle sequence is 3 steps:1. Blow whistle (get everyone’s attention)
2. Signal result of play (Point/LOR, Replay/Re-serve)
3. Signal fault• If R2 whistles first, then:
– R2 signals fault, then player number if necessary– R1 signals result, then player number if necessary

• 5-2-7(b): When a fault is whistled by the second referee, the first referee will indicate only the result of play followed by the player at fault, if necessary.

HOW TO FLY SOLO
Pre-Match: complete all duties of R1 and R2
Ball in Play: R2 duties are secondary concern. Focus on ball and contacts.
Dead Ball: Scan court every time for requests from coaches, signals from scorer
