THE FINAL
FRONTIER
…to infinity and beyond
New Jerusalem
Revelation 21:1-22:5
(Rev 21:1) And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth
were passed away; and there was no more sea.
(Rev 21:2) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride
adorned for her husband.
(Rev 21:9) And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the
seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the
bride, the Lamb's wife.
(Rev 21:10) And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high
mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem,
descending out of heaven from God,

Walls, Gates and Foundations
(Rev 21:12-14) And had a wall great and high, and had twelve
gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written
thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of
Israel: On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the
west three gates. And the wall of the city had twelve
foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of
the Lamb.
I. We are to REGULATE a separation from the world
A. Walls are for
separation
(Eph 2:12-15) That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from
the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of
promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off
are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made
both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the
enmity, even the law of commandments contained in
ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
(2Co 6:17) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate,
saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
(Pro 23:10) Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the
fields of the fatherless:
B. Walls are for Safety
(Num 13:28) Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very
great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
(Joh 17:15) I pray not that thou shouldest take them out
of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the
evil.
C. Walls are for
Supervision
(Pro 25:28) He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like
a city that is broken down, and without walls.
I. We are to REGULATE a separation from the world
II. We are to have a REINFORCEMENT to our walls
(Rev 21:12-14) And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and
at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of
Israel: On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles
of the Lamb.
(Eph 2:19) Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but
fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
(Eph 2:20) And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and
prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
(Eph 2:21) In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy
temple in the Lord:(Eph 2:22) In whom ye also are
builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
(1Co 3:10) According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise
masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth
thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
(1Co 3:11) For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is
Jesus Christ.
(1Co 3:10-11) According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth
thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is
laid, which is Jesus Christ.
(Heb 11:10) For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder
and maker is God.
A. Foundations
are for Salvation
(Luk 6:48) He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when
the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and
could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
(Luk 6:49) But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a
foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did
beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was
great.
B. Foundations
are for schooling
(Act 2:42) And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread,
and in prayers.
I. We are to REGULATE a separation from the world
II. We are to have a REINFORCEMENT to our walls
III. We must allow a RIGHT of entry
(Rev 21:12-14) And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve
angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of
the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the
west three gates. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
(Joh 4:22) Ye worship ye know not what: we know
what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
(Rev 21:21) And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city
was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
A. The significances of the peral
(Mat 13:45) Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man,
seeking goodly pearls:
(Mat 13:46) Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold
all that he had, and bought it.
