DESCRIPTION

Satan has various disguises. The animal kingdom teaches us that predators (killers) look for and attack animals that are alone and have wandered away from the flock. They then become exposed because they lack the protection provided by the flock. Our enemy (the devil) couldn’t have it better! He wants nothing more than to find a wandering sheep (a child of God) and pounce on him when he is all alone.

Where Is Satan?

A pride of lions will even stalk and attack animals that are larger than they are!

When lions attack, they do it from every side and they attack multiple times.

SATAN IS A LION! I Peter 5:8 says “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”

He is roaring, looking for, and stalking whom he can devour.

It does not matter who you are. Satan will try his hands at you. If a lion is hungry and a little kitten is near, just one bite and it’s gone!

Satan maulsSo, just as a lion hunts its prey, Satan will hunt God’s people, by trying to pick off the weak.

He is always looking for a way to get us in a position by ourselves, then he comes out of nowhere and attacks.

He causes great pain by wounding us first then continues to eat at us.

But the comforting thing is, we can call out for help.

Satan as a lionA lion is an enemy to everyone

Satan is an enemy to a child of God

A lion does not like to share his food

Satan does not like to share us. He wants our loyalty to be to him.

A lion will pick on the weakest animal

Satan will pick on the weakest person

A lion will disguise himself

Satan disguises himself as anything to draw us away from God.

A lions job is easier when other animals are not aware of him

Satan’s job is easier when we are not watching for him.

A lion will try to tempt you by drawing you away from the safety of the herd.

Satan wants to draw you away from the hedge of God.

The Lord helps us get away from Satan

Psalms 145:18-19 “The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry and will save them.”

We must also use the word of God found in the B-I-B-L-E as a weapon against Satan

When we do this we are like soldiers fighting for our salvation (see “Onward Christian Soldiers” Video)

The Lord Will Help

Satan doesn’t get weary

Remember, Satan is very active. He is forever watching when you don’t realize it.

He will find the perfect timing to get you away from your safety net of the Lord and quickly attack!
