3. You can understand Laura’s behavior and not pardon her. If nothing is done to correct or acknowledge that her behavior is inappropriate then it is the same thing as excusing or pardoning it.

4. Rachel seems to not see how she effects other people. She could have dressed with more care. She could have chosen a topic that was more likely to be successful.
