Dean was Sir Themistocles Zammit,

Professor of Chemistry -

specialised in bacteriology in London

and Paris, received knighthood for his

discovery of the vector for

transmission to humans of

Brucellosis melitensis (undulent

fever) , and made significant

contributions to archaeology in Malta
