APPEAL OF CHIEF ARCHITECT OF MOSCOW

In the city, it is very important for people to associate themselves with a certain place or house, to get positive emotions on their way to work and back, when walking in a backyard, or when going to do some shopping. At first glance, the mental condition has nothing to do with design, but but that is not the case. The environment greatly affects our perception, and the main idea of the renovation is to create fundamentally new, open and comfortable urban spaces, high-quality housing, useful services and social facilities, cultural, leisure and sports centers, well-thought-out transport infrastructure that would be focused on residents, to make our capital more convenient for living and working.

The block development principle shall be taken as a basis. Urban areas with a well-defined structure and allocated blocks will allow efficient use of the townsite. At the same time, they should be distinct from each other, having an individual architectural image. Among other things, this will be facilitated by the original design of buildings, variety of finishes, and elements of the block’s infrastructure.

To this end, we are launching international projects of the architectural, space and stylistic concept of housefronts. This will help attract experts with long experience in various parts of the world, get interesting and unique designs, and implement state-of-the-art technology concepts. This is not an easy task, because we expect to see in the entries both the consistency of the concept as a whole and targeted techniques for each design site. Now experts from all over the world have an opportunity to show how the modern language of architecture is able to create and rethink projects of such a scale.

We have a chance to improve the environment, and you should not be afraid to take it.

SERGEI KUZNETSOV
