Bugala devoted many days to finding the unfiltered purity in each of his subject’s faces and the result is his impressive series “People in Schoenberg”. The long lives of these seniors are evidenced by the viewer through his truly authentic images. “There was no styling or make-up,” tells Bugala, and with only a few exceptions the images were not edited or enhanced. Taking its title from the series, an exhibition of forty black and white portraits will be on view from September 14, 2014 through January 31, 2015. The photo project „People of Schoenberg“ was developed in collaboration with the forty subjects of the Schoenberg senior center. The black and white portraits will be exhibited at the senior center as 60x90 cm photographic prints on canvas. The forty large format images will be exclusively printed by the Berlin photolab XXLPIX. The project is financed by the Martha and Paul Staebler Stiftung and supported by the Diakonie Brother House. The prints are not for sale and the rights to the images are property of the Martha and Paul Staebler Stiftung. The exhibition is free and open to the public. PEOPLE IN SCHOENBERG

PHOTOGRAPHER

Tobias Bugala is specialised in portrait-photographs of particularly expressive faces. Therefore he is also a professional photographer in classic portrait genre.

Tobias Bugala invests a lot of time and leisure in his motifs to catch photographically the perfect moment. The “Stuttgarter Newspaper” shows him full appreciation and calls him tenderly the “Faces-Collector”.

Project Results At the exhibition opening more than 100 guests, including local jour-nalists were in attendance. Not only did the Stuttgarter and other re-gional newspapers report on its opening but photography magazines such as the DOCMA, did as well. The photographer was able to create a lot of positive attention to Stuttgart through this project. The forty large format canvas prints will be on exhibit at the Schoenberg senior center through the end of January 2015.

My goal was not only to picture 40 people but to tell 40 stories. And the older a person is the more stories we can read out of his face. Tobias Bugala, Photographer
