very day more and more Young people are listening to Reggae music. Do you

know why? The Reggae is turning into a way to show “You are disagreeing with

something” some lyrics of this music talk about religion or Rastafarian culture and

love this culture is practice around the world but was created in Africa and

Jamaica. Also this music is used to meditate or think about something else. Some people

say that this music helps them to release stress and bad energies. Other young people like

this music to dace it.

Around the word the reggae music is a kind of language to say “I’M AGAINST WITH

SOME LAWS THAT MAKE ENRICH PEOPLE RICH USING OR KILLING POOR

PEOPLE”. An example with a song called ROTTEN TOWN singed by OneChot from

Spain. This is the main purpose of this music. Rastafarianism is a religion that is very

common among Jamaicans of African descents. In other countries some people are

practicing this religion, and therefore many reggae lyrics reflect the beliefs and traditions of

Rastafarianism. There is a song called RASTAFARI IS singed by Peter Tosh and the most

popular song for love by Bob Marley One love.

If you tell me what you hear, I tell you who you are. Music is one of the things that identifies us. Music is a uniquely human characteristic included in our personality by genes or inlfuences. The music relates to our expression, identification, and personality of a person; so if you choose the music, you talk about your influences, but if the music chooses you, you talk about your genes. In most people there is a mix of both because at first you listen to the same music in your group of friends listens, so you are influenced by others, and then as time passes , you start choosing your own music, and that´s when the music identifies you as a individual person. A study at the University of “Adrian North Heriot-Watt” of Scotland ran a test in thirty-six thousand people (36.000) to analize the aspects of personality and found these results: Blues: High self-esteem, creative, outgoing, gentle and relaxed. Country: workers, shy, closed. Dance: a little quiet, outgoing, not gentle. Heavy metal: soft, quiet, non hard-working, low self esteem, character, gentle, kind, creative, at peace with themselves, docile, gentle, not outgoing, relaxed. Other way to express the feelings?

Have you ever heard of screamo? If your answer is no , don’t worry .most people don’t

know anything about it, because it is more more common among teenagers but this kind

of music is good for a lot of people

Screamo is a strange genre of music, the term “screamo” was born in san diego (1). The

most important objective in this kind of music is to express the emotions . it is a mix

between hardcore and emo . In conclusion, the screamo id a kind of music that expresses

repressed feelings

What is the history of this genre? The term screamo was used first by a set of bands that

were born in 1991 in “che café “(2). They compose a style like a hardcore. It’s influenced

by feeling like sadness and happiness. This is the most important fact in the first

generation. a few groups incorporated new styles in this genre like “power violence” (3).

The original style of screamo is used now by a lot of bands, To Conclude , in the first

generation the style of this genre was influenced by emotions and depends on the

feelings that the singers put into their music

the second generation is the best because from this generation the screamo has a real

feeling. in this generation the new artist can improve the style because they incorporate a

new style slower and calmer than before . in my opinion in this moment the music is

better than before because we really can identify the feeling of the artist

The groups never do the shows on a stage because they prefer to stay in contact with the

public. The groups are at the center of the public in this moment the people start to do

mosh. The mosh is an activity where the public that stay around the group begins to

collide with the other person, in conclusion this activity can be dangerous

In conclusion the scream was made to express the feelings in a strange way , where the

teenagers can think about themself without the opinion of the other person , now we can

understand that we have more ways to express the feelings without use the force with

ourself

Do you like the rock music? The best rock bands have been in the mind of young and

old people because of their ideas, song and talent. That’s the case of led Zeppelin, The

Beatles, Queen and others. They pierced the barriers of the space and the time with

their strong songs and beautiful lyrics. As a result, they have gotten the hearts of

millions of young and have changed the way to think in each generation.

The best rock bands have always had new ways to see the world that broke the

schemes of the society and they showed disagreement whit the old generation. They

argued with powerful people. Sometimes they had problems with the law that was the

case of Janis Joplin one of the rock women. In her moment she was an image of

freedom and unconformity of the system. In one occasion she was arrested because

she insulted some policeman. Like this one there are a lot of case in which the rock

starts were arrested and they had to pay for their freedom.

The songs of a big band have their personal seal. All big bands have different styles

that were reflected in each song that they composed. Some people prefer to imagine

or think of abstract situations and other fin the inspiration on their life like Matt

Smith. He found his inspiration in a difficult moment of his life because he was

breaking with his girlfriend and he knew that she was with another man in that time

“Every Rose has its Thorns” was composed by Matt and poison (the Matt’s band). As a

result, poison is one of the best rock bands of the history.

The talent is one of the most important ability in each member of a big rock band. This

is the case of Jimmy Page who is and was one of the best guitars of the world because

he has the ability of improvise in all moment with a force in the stage that can speed

up your heart. This is one of reason that Led Zeppelin (Jimmy’s band) is one of the

best rock bands.

Have you seen your favorite band live? The history of the best rock bands is an

things that make in an unusual sport. Parkour is a sport that was created in France and the first

people who practice it were Andrew Scott and Stone Glass. The equipment necessary to practice it

is just shoes, gloves and clothes that you can wear and make you feel comfortable.

Another person that made something important for parkuor was George Heberts. During his visit

to he was impressed by the physical development and skills of indigenous tribes that he met.

Inspired by indigenous tribes, Hebert became a physical education tutor at the collage of Reims in

France. He began to define the principles of his own system of physical education and to create

various apparatuses and exercises to teach his “natural method” which he defined as methodical,

progressive and continuous action that has as object: assuring a good physical development,

increasing organic resistances2.

This sport is characterized because it’s dangerous and the people who practice it have to do it

without protection. The most important thing to practice this sport is that you have to be careful

with yourself and you just need to practice it a lot and meet your goals. If you meet your goals,

you can get motivation to practice it and to be in shape.

Two primary features of parkour are efficiency and speed. The traceurs (is the name that the

people who practice it receive) take the most direct way through an obstacle as rapidly as that

route can be traversed safely. Also, efficiency is the most important thing that you have to get if

you want to avoid injuries. Some people that practice this sport have stood any kind of lesion to

themselves and in some cases the lesions are serious.

In conclusion, the characteristics of this sport, all the difficulties and the requirements to practice

it, make of this sport a very unusual sport. Now, you know some things about parkour, would you

Tour in the jungle with style

Are you looking for something different and exciting for your holidays or family

getaways?.Canopy can be your choice. Canopy is an adventure sport inspired in the

exploration of the most important part in the forest structure (called Canopy) 30 m above

the ground, Canopy area has the majority percent of the life in the forest.4

Canopy was originated in Costa Rica, where adventurous biologists couldn't study animal

life that habituates the upper canopy level of forests5. There are different ways of Canopy;

the most popular consists of a pulley suspended by cables placed on an incline like a tree

or a hill. People are held in place by a jump harness and slide down through lush

vegetation. It can be practiced by anyone between 7 and 70 years6, no matter their weigh.

The cost depends of place and the use of guides; you can find many places in Colombia to

practice this sport

I was in a trip in Costa Rica and my coworkers invited me to a Canopy practice. I was very

scared because I´m afraid of heights, but later I calmed because everybody tell me that

canopy elements are built by civil engineers with safety standards. First the instructor put

on me the equipment; then he explained how to use the harness: “this element lets you

control the speed of descent”. Then we climbed through the pulley to a tree in which the

tour began, I cried until reaching the end of the journey, but it was fun.

If you prefer there are also guides who can control your speed and ensure your safety.

The recommended weight limit is in 120kg, for that reason many people can do it2. Canopy

In conclusion, the need to explore and learn has led human being to create different ways

to move in other environments and this curiosity has permitted create sports like Canopy.

This sport is practiced in wooded areas where nature is the main protagonist. You can

practice walking, or using sophisticated equipment like a harness. It is ideal for nature

lovers, individual thrill seeker, family getaways, student´s excursions because it can be

“EL CIELO” A DIFFERENT PLACE TO EAT

Aren´t you boring of eating in the same place? “El Cielo” is not like a traditional

restaurant. Is not only a place to eat but to live a new different experience. “El

Cielo” began in Medellín. Now they are in Bogota and they have been open for six

months. The restaurant is located at calle 70 # 4-47. Juan Manuel Barrieta, the

creative chef for the restaurant, is only 28 years old. More that eating it is an

experience with the food.

This restaurant is not like a traditional restaurant. Because this restaurant doesn’t

has a traditional menu, so you never know what food you eat. The idea is have

moments with the food. It´s a creative place to play with your senses. Many people

think that this food is molecular food. The chef disagrees because he says that is a

creative Kitchen not molecular food. The idea is that the chef invented all de plates.

The ingredients that he uses are the traditional ingredients in Colombia, for

example, the morcilla.

The restaurant Is not only a place to eat is to have experience around the food:

Moments more than plates. The menu is not the plate, it´s moment, because all the

things are not only to eat. For example, to begin the experience with the food, they

bring to the table a shell with a little ball that converts in a towel when touching the

water to clean the hands. Another example for the moments that you can live in the

restaurant is the chocolate therapy. You can wash your hands in chocolate, and

then you can eat the chocolate that is left in the hands. These are some examples

for the moments that you can live in this restaurant.

“El Cielo” restaurant has a different menu like the traditional restaurants: it is a

menu that involves the senses. In the restaurant there are not menu options. Six

moments for the lunch and two more: ten or twenty moments for the dinner. It is

like a tasting menu in with the customer can select some dishes. In the restaurant

doesn’t has the same menu is changing every 3 months. Between the dishes that

can be enjoyed are: the shrimp tamal with chorizao and asparagus, onion soup

with chocolate, salmon with rice and tomato jelly.

The restaurant “El Cielo” is not only a place to eat but an adventure. Here you don’t

find a specific type of food but an experience with you sense and emotions. This

experience lasts two hours and includes chocolate therapy, massage with rose or

scented environment. The atmosphere for the restaurant is nice but it´s a basic

place not to distract the attention of the costumers. What is important is the design

of the plates. It is not an inexpensive restaurant, six moments in the menu cost

$38.000, ten moments cost $119.000 and the twenty moments cost $159.000.

More than eating it is an experience with the food. This is not a traditional

restaurant the menus are not always the same because are changing. This is not

an inexpensive restaurant that is ideal for special occasions. “El Cielo” only serves

fifteen customers for night so it is important make reservation. The interesting

thing about this restaurant is the food it different from other sites. The chef is in

charge of designing these creative dishes and moments that will make an

experience to remember.

The Carnival Month Do you know what The Carnival of Quebec, The Carnival of Venice and The Carnival of Tenosique have in common? Besides the fact that they are carnivals, of course, all of them are celebrated in February. Believe or not, there is a special reason why they are celebrated around the middle of February and not in any other month. The reason is related with the origin of the word carnival.1

There are many theories about the origin of the word carnival, but the most important and interesting theory say that this word is derived from the Latin expression “carne vale” which mean to put away meat. This word was the name that the followers of the catholic religion in Italy, give to their festival which was celebrated before the first day of Holy Week, period where the Catholics are not supposed to eat meat2. This festival became quite famous and with the conquest, it spread to the entire world.

One of these carnivals that we celebrate in February is The Carnival of Quebec. It’s known as the world’s largest winter carnival3 and it’s celebrated from January 27th to February 12th. People of Quebec enjoy this carnival under a temperature minus of 30 grades centigrade. It includes a winter Amusement Park with attractions such as skiing, snow rafting, ice sculptures and outdoor shows4. Also they do competitions of ice fishing and canoe races. But in spite of the high temperature, this is a great carnival. Be sure not to miss it if you go to Canada.

Another carnival is The Carnival of Venice. This is one the most important carnivals in the world. It’s celebrated from February 11th to February 21st. The main characteristic of this carnival is that the participants wear elaborated and beautiful masks and 17th century dress5. This carnival is recognized for its wonderful formal balls. These spectacular events allow you to re-live the golden age of the Venetian Republic6. If you want to enjoy a carnival full of majesty, a trip to Venice during carnival will be a good option.

The last but not the least important is The Carnival of Tenosique. It’s known as the weirdest carnival of the world. It’s celebrated from January 20th until early February. This carnival is considered this way because it’s a carnival full of peculiar activities that has survived for many years. One of them is the ritual dances of “El Pochó” which was danced by Mayas and it

shows the battle between good and evil. It does not seem an interesting carnival but the main characteristic is that it is very autochthonous and retains much of the Mayan traditions7. So, if you are really crazy about The Maya and their customs this carnival would be an exciting experience for you.

Because of the carnivals, February is the most festive time of the year. In this month locations, like Quebec, Venice and

You should know how they live the best carnivals in South

America Much has been talked about Carnivals in the World, but

do you know the best Carnivals and Festivals in South

America? The best carnivals/festivals in South America

are located in Argentina, Brasil and Colombia. It´s posible

that the reasons why these carnivals and festivals are

different and rated as the best are: their color, the joy of their people, and

the different plans offered in each of the celebrations. For example, in

Argentina they have the Current Carnival, in Brazil they celebrate the Rio

Carnival, and in Colombia we have some carnivals, and various fairs and

festivals such as the flowers and Barranquilla among others.

The best carnavals in Argentina are the Current Carnivals, for example,

the Gualeguaychú Carnivali. Those festival rituals are held in honor of

Bacchus. He was the god of wine. This custom passed into Egypt and the

Roman Empire also from Europe and was brought

to America in the times of the colonies and the

conquest in the XV century. This carnival is a

popular celebration. Now it has lost its religious

context and has become a time of partying extended to the weekends of

The Rio de Janeiro Carnival of Brazilii is an annual festival celebrated

forty-six days before easter. These days of Lent, the Catholics and other

Christians traditionally stop eating meat and poultry. The participation,

and costumes vary from one region of Brazil to another. In the cities of Rio

de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, the people organize parades. They are led by

samba schools. This carnival is influenced by African culture.

The Colombian Festivals are around the carnivals of nature, the religions

and cities, for example, in Cali the people

celebrate very year the Cali Fair in December. In

Medellin they celebrate the Flowers Fair in

February, in Pasto they celebrate carnivals in January of Blacks and

Whites. All these parties in Colombia are famous and the people have a

happy face. At parties the people change their habits and welcome

different world visitors.

In conclusion, I consider the carnivals of Brasil, Argentina and Colombia

are maybe the best carnivals of South America by the variety of plans

offered and treatment of people. After reading this article, don't you want
