In an effort to make this easier, We want to renew our offer of a free electronic log subscription to any contractor who signs up between now and February 28. For those who qualify, electronic logs will be provided to the contractor free of charge between the date of sign up through the end of 2017. There-after, the subscription will cost the contractor $6.50 a week.
The steps to start using ELD’s are simple- Contact your agent *Let them know your email address *Whether you have Android or Apple phone or tablet. *Whether your truck ECM has 6 or 9 holes *Actively use your Elec-tronic Logs every day
We’re happy to share that since announcing our electronic log rollout plan at the June 2016 agents’ meeting, that our electronic log enrollment grew from a little more than 100 drivers to nearly 1,400 drivers. We sincerely appreciate all your efforts in embracing the challenge that was presented and getting out ahead of many of our competitors.
We understand that there may be some who hesitated to transition from paper to electron-ic logs because of OOIDA’s court chal-lenge to the electronic log mandate. For this reason, we wanted to share two recent devel-opments with you. First, the appeals court that heard OOIDA’s challenge recently sided with the federal govern-
ment and upheld the December 2017 man-date. Second, while we have heard some sug-gestions that a Trump Presidency may mean that the December 2017 mandate will be post-poned or scrapped alto-gether, a recent article from CCJ suggests oth-erwise. In fact, multiple industry insiders quoted in that article shared the same opinion: don’t expect any changes to the December 2017 mandate. (Should you wish to read the article for yourself, you can find it here: http://www.ccjdigital.com/on-e-logs-infrastructure-and-freight-what-trumps-agenda-may-mean-for-trucking/)
It appears as though the December 2017 elec-tronic mandate is here to stay, now is the time to accept this upcoming change.

-A picture is worth a thousand words! We will remind you to take cell phone pictures, of your truck, of the other vehi-cles involved, of the skid marks, of each vehicle placement which can help determine who is at
fault. You may tell us it is not your fault but if you have pictures to back it up it will help us defend your case.
-The Police Report num-ber is ALWAYS NEEDED if they respond. We gain valuable information from the police reports which can prove you were not at fault.
-Obtain information on the other drivers in-volved: their name, phone number and ad-dress if possible. The sooner our investigators
speak to them and they say no injury the better.
-Post Accident Testing Instructions: If any vehi-cle is towed from the sce-ne OR if any person is transported from the sce-ne in an ambulance AND you receive a cita-tion, post-accident test-ing is required by the DOT. This is mandatory

LaToya McCants has been volunteering and donating in her community for years. When hurricane Matthew hit the state of North Carolina and devastated the poorest city in the state, Lumberton, she jumped in to help. She along with other friends set up a pop up kitchen that fed over 1000 people. She has also spearheaded a donation drive that helped supply this area with water, pampers, and other supplies.
Along her side is her 7 year old daughter Bella who helps in any way she can. They have a 501c3 nonprofit called Bella’s Books that provides level 1 books to low income daycare centers. They participate monthly in Operation Sandwich which lets kids make sandwiches for Urban Ministries which is a homeless shelter. On average they
make 800-1,200 sandwiches each time.
LaToya is constantly donating. She is currently doing their 3rd Annual Sock Drive which she said is the most needed but least donated item of any shelter. They are currently prepping for their 2nd Annual Operations Christmas Cookie which allows Bella to bake cookies Christmas Eve and hand out cookies Christmas Day at Urban Ministries. If anyone is looking to donate and help with any of her great causes, feel free to email her at [email protected] The Evans Network wants thank you and your family for
the amazing work you do!!
Lending a Hand to Those in Need
Evans requires that every vehicle have a full federal inspection every 6 months
Inspections must be completed on the Evans federal inspec-tion form, or on a form that meets the same guidelines as the Evans form. JJ Keller inspection forms will not be ac-cepted
The forms must in-clude the vendor’s name & contact infor-mation, tire tread depth, brake lining and push rod stroke measurements, and reflect that a FHWA decal was issued
For inspections per-formed in accordance
with the Evans’ policy, we will pay for every other inspection, up to a maximum amount of $85.00 for the basic in-spection cost. Vehicle owners are responsible for paying their initial inspection upon onboarding.
Inspections must be completed at an ap-proved vendor. An up-dated vendor list can be requested from [email protected].

LETTING YOUR VOICE BE HEARD :
ADJUDICATED CITATIONS & DATA Q CHALLENGES
With the Adjudicated Ci-tation Policy, a Data Q Challenge must be sub-mitted. By letting us file a Data Q Challenge for you, the violation’s CSA Severi-ty Weight can also be re-moved or lowered on both the Operator’s and the Motor Carrier’s Safe-ty Profile.
If a citation is not re-ceived during a road-side examination, it does not mean that
you cannot be heard. We encourage you to submit a Data Q Challenge by registering as a new user/driver on the Data Q Dashboard at http://dataqs.fmcsa.dot.gov.
Please contact us at safetyroadsidefines@ evansdelivery.com as soon as you receive a ci-tation or violation so that
Receiving a citation dur-ing a Roadside Examina-tion is a good thing! When you get a citation, you have a chance to ap-pear in court and to have your voice be heard. If successful, the citation may be either dismissed or amended…hence, an “Adjudicated Citation”. If you had received a Road-side Violation as well as the citation, it doesn’t end there.
