Dr. Sam Goebel received a call to the ministry following a successful business career. After serving as an evangelist, the Lord then called

him to serve as Senior Pastor at Family of Jesus Fellowship in Ravenna, Ohio, where he served for 20 years. In 2003, Dr. Goebel resigned

to accept the position of President/CEO of the Evangelical Church Alliance, which he held for almost nine years. Sam was elected ECA

Chairman of the Board in 2016, faithfully fulfilling those duties until resigning the office in 2018. He continues to serve on the ECA Board and

is currently Pastor of Congregational Care at River Valley Christian Fellowship in Bourbonnais, IL. He lives in Kankakee, Illinois with his wife,

Anita, and son, Christopher.

Continued on back

Rev. Dave Pearson has a unique approach to the Gospel ministry. As “Pastor Dave”, he and his wife created their own Christian radio show

and have now been producing it for ten years. Also, his life’s story is one of the catalogued testimonies that aired on Chicago’s Pacific Garden

Mission Unshackled! radio program. Additionally, this faithful servant is a chaplain at O’Hare and Midway airports. Also, when invited to speak

at various conferences, his topical message often includes the moving testimony of God’s grace from his difficult childhood. In yet another

dimension of ministry, he is known as “Karate Dave” Holding a fifth-degree black belt, for more than 30 years in the Chicagoland area, he has

taught thousands of students and run nine associated training locations. Brother Dave gives karate gospel demonstrations for Vacation Bible

School, teen activities, men’s prayer breakfasts, church banquets (for entertainment) and more. His fun, high-energy interactive presentation

keeps the audience on the edge of their seats, all the while teaching them how to keep up their guard for Christ! Fellow martial artist, the ECA’s

Rev. Huntley Brown, comments of Karate Dave, “What a powerful message, and his story will always seem to hit home.”

Speakers & Instructors

Rev. Dr. Scott A. Lemenager has been the Special Assistant to the President and CEO of the ECA since November 2012, also serving as

Clerk of its Standards and Credentials Committee. Dr. Lemenager lives in Kankakee, Illinois with his wife, Polly. Married in June of 1978,

they have 10 biological children and soon to be 15 grandchildren. Four of his children are actively involved in ministry. Dr. Scott, ordained

as a minister with the ECA, has pastored churches in virtually every capacity in the state of Illinois. Having addressed congregations both in

other states as well as overseas, he also serves as a conference speaker for the ECA. Ordained as Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian

Church in America, he previously served as Stated Clerk for the denomination’s Chicago Metro Presbytery and Presbytery of Northern Illi-

nois. In academia, Dr. Lemenager specialized in World Religions and was allowed to be Adjunct Faculty of Kankakee Community College

from 2001 to 2018. On May 14, 2016, he received the Outstanding Faculty Member award from the institution. He also taught in the adjunct capacity for Moraine

Valley Community College and Joliet Junior College. A graduate of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Illinois, with a Master of Divinity in Missions and

Master of Arts/Missiology (all but thesis), he also holds a degree in American Intercultural Studies from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. He was awarded Doctor

of Divinity honoris causa by the National Clergy Council in Washington, D.C., for his many accomplishments and varied ministry experience.

Rev. Christopher Williams, a graduate of C.L. Lane Bible Institute in Transfer, Pennsylvania, and ordained with the ECA since 1995, pro-

ceeded then to pastor five churches in Ohio. During that time, in June of 2011, Rev. Williams answered the call to take on an additional role

for the kingdom. He and his wife were appointed as missionaries with Cadence International, a ministry to the military. Just four months

later, however, they experienced a traumatic and dramatic life change through the tragic death of their 20-year-old daughter as a result of an

automobile accident. Even so, after the accident, opportunities arose to share about the associated nineteen months of legal proceedings

and deep grief. In the midst of this grief, he and his wife experienced the power of God strengthening their marriage. Chris concluded his

church pastorate in Ohio in 2013, at which time he and his wife moved to Virginia to network with Liberty University to minister to the student

population’s military personnel on campus. Rev. Williams continues to see the glory of God in changed and transformed lives as his story

surrounding the accident progresses.

Anita Louise Goebel is currently co-minister to the elderly with her husband, Dr. Sam Goebel. Prior to her current ministry, Anita served

alongside Dr. Goebel, who was the ECA President & CEO. Her position included processing applicants as Application Processor, BEI Coordi-

nator, and Executive Assistant. Before joining the ECA staff, Anita served in her local church as a Sunday school teacher, Financial Secretary,

Missions Committee Chair, and maintained the Bible/Scripture center. During her business career, Anita served as a branch manager and

head teller at Bank One in Ravenna, Ohio, where she worked for 25 years. She is the mother of four. Anita and her husband Sam are blessed

with seven children, 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Rev. John Teller has been involved in youth ministry since 1986 and was ordained with the ECA in 1994. Beginning his music interests at

age five, John graduated from the acclaimed School for the Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio. He helped to produce the

Junior High Game Nights series from Youth Specialties and has written and recorded many contemporary worship songs for youth and

adults. John has experience as a youth, children’s and music pastor and has mentored and raised up leaders in each. He began the Youth

Break-Out sessions at the ECA to help the teens of ministry leaders and their unique circumstances. John is proficient in multiple technolo-

gies and has helped ministries and parents understand the challenges of protecting youth from the various "hazards" on the internet.

Rev. Carey Childrey “comes alongside to reach the unreached peoples of the world” in the official capacity of Associate with Paraclete Mission

Group, founded in 1988 and of which he is a charter member. Presently, one of his emphases is assisting Asian Christian Academy (ACA) in India to

equip its Evangelical Theological Seminary (ETS) students for church planting, missions and evangelism. Today, ACA’s graduates, all former stu-

dents of Rev. Childrey, have planted a number of growing and thriving indigenous Bible churches throughout India. ACA now has 30 missionaries in

the field. Also, Brother Carey is president of NATIONQUEST™, a ministry he founded in 2004 to incorporate into Paraclete Mission Group to provide

a thrust to “help the nations find the blessings of God.” Only through the church returning to the Spirit-filled, prophetic proclamation and teaching of

the entirety of the inerrant and perspicuous Scriptures can the younger generations be revived. As a faithful servant, Rev. Carey stresses nations’

accountability to God and “the whole Word of God, for the whole church, for the whole world, for all time!” Brother Carey has served as a missionary,

missions professor, missions executive, missions CEO and pastor. An ECA member since 1985, this faithful servant holds a Th.M. in Bible Exposi-

Chaplain (Lieutenant Colonel) Jason “J.R.” Lorenzen is a 2004 graduate of Western Theological Seminary in Portland, Oregon. In 2007 he

began serving as an active duty Army Chaplain at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Additional military training of parachutist, jump master and Air Assault

and Ranger School has equipped him to serve in specialized units. His assignments have included elite “tip of the spear” units that have taken him

to remote hostile locations, where he witnessed first-hand the impacts of enduring conflict. In 2014, he completed a Masters Science (M.S.) in

Counseling from Columbus State University and became a Family Life chaplain. Through these assignments and training he has seen the effects of

emotional and spiritual trauma on the faith, relationship and service of soldiers and families. He speaks from personal need and ministry to those

needing “S.O.U.L.S. Care,” while “navigating amidst the privileges and pressures of ministry.” Chaplain Lorenzen and Shelby Cay married on Sep-

tember 21, 2002. During their seventeen years of marriage they have been blessed with four daughters and a son; Elliora Faith (15 years old),

Emmelia Annaleise (13 years old), Evelyse Elanna (11 years old), Estella Tovah (10 years old) and Silas Robert (8 years old). His hobbies include

photography, marksmanship and hiking. He and his family enjoy camping, game nights and trips to the beach.

Pam Wally, founder of Lion Art Ministry and wife of ECA member, Pastor Walter Wally, is an artist who loves painting animals and various other

subjects. Mrs. Wally has always loved to draw, but spent very little of her younger years painting. She would draw to entertain her children when they

were little. Pam started getting serious with her art about 24 years ago, doing mostly pet portraits and other animals. Over the years, her husband

has encouraged her to expand her artwork and show it publicly. She began teaching art classes at a café they owned in Kentucky. It was there Pam

found out how much she loved painting and teaching, and felt so deeply that God gave her a gift that He wanted her to use and share with others to

glorify and honor Him. This committed sister in the Lord prayed about this and decided to tie Scripture to many of the paintings. She prays about

both what she is going to paint, and that whoever sees or purchases the painting will want to look up the verses and study His Word. Mrs. Wally

continues to teach small art classes.
