Background
• The European Union has set itself the goal of becoming the most competitive knowledge-based economy in the world by 2010.
• Europe needs to produce more R&D personnel and attract top international talent and
allocate its existing pool of scientific skills as effectively as possible.
• This can only be achieved through a high degree of researcher mobility.
The European Researcher’s Mobility Portal
• http://europa.eu.int/eracareers/ • The Portal is intended to help researchers
identify training and job opportunities throughout Europe
• The Portal offers information on fellowships and grants, research job vacancies and practical information
• There are links from the European Portal to 31 National mobility portals and to contact information of ERA-MORE mobility centres
Possibilites of the European Researcher’s Mobility Portal
• All organisations involved in research activities can register and post job vacancies free of charge
• Researchers can post their CVs to the Portal’s database and so can be contacted by research organisations

• Researcher Mobility offers information on visas, residence permits and residence permits for employment, taxation, social insurance, transport, IPR, accommodation and everyday matters
ERA-MORE – The European Network of Mobility Centres
• ERA-MORE: the European Network of Mobility Centres is intended to facilitate the life of “mobile” researchers by tailored assistance.
• There are 200 centres in 32 countries offering you personalised help and providing information on issues related to mobility
