Krishna World International Primary Goal

Krishna World International [KWI] is creating, developing and increasing organized communities

throughout India and outside India. It also aims to structure more quality and productive spiritually

and socially oriented citizens. We take steps towards spirituality and devotional service to Krishna to

meet one’s necessities in life. Self-sufficiency is the motto of every single man and woman in this

world, which includes economical, physiological and psychological requirements. Therefore

providing their material necessities and at the same time bring their intrinsic devotional qualities for

Krishna became the formost of the theme of KWI. Men, women and children are in search of food,

shelter, medication and education, and they are making tireless effort in the rural and urban section of

the Indian States. There are 29 States in India according to the current listing of the country, and KWI

CHAPTER I

DHANVANTRI AYURVEDIC HOSPITAL &

RESEARCH CENTRE [DAHRC]

INTRODUCTION

The conceptual and operational framework of Ayurveda is wide enough to include all that is

essential to make a man healthy and happy. It includes the study of right conduct, which is

necessary for the healthy growth of society in which the man lives. Further it deals with the

philosophical aspect of life, the knowledge of which contributes greatly to the comfort and

happiness of all human beings. Ayurveda philosophically understands the limitation of human

efforts. Still it talks about the means of prolonging life and the methods of invigorating it.

The objectives of Ayurveda are mainly two, the first being the maintenance of positive health,

and the other treatment of diseases. These clearly defined objectives are achieved through

logically developed means in a classical way. On the basis of objectives defined, the sum and

substance of Ayurveda can be classified into two parts -

I. Healthy man’s regimen - the science of positive health (svasthavrittam)

ii. Patient’s regimen (aturavrittam).

OBJECTIVES

Ayurveda is the oldest system of medicine, which was brought to the benefit of

mankind by the Lord Dhanvantari, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who appeared with

an immortal nectar or art for the heavenly demigods, and further propagated by

different acharyas since centuries.

Ayurveda means the science which deals with the longevity of life; the main aim of

Ayurveda is swasthasya swaasthya rakshanam that is to restore the health of the

healthy individual and aturasya vikara prashamanam that is to cure the disease of the

diseased, the system includes 8 branches such as kayachikitsam, panchakarma etc. it

also includes lifestyle modifications like dinacharya, rithucharya and yoga technique.

To make this sacred science available to the devotees and inmates of the various

ashram of Krishna World International [KWI] or the society of Krishna consciousness

has come up with well equipped, traditional and authentic Ayurveda hospital within

GOSHALA

INTRODUCTION

Go seva means serving the cows. Bhagavad gita describes how Lord

Krishna cared for the cows and calves every morning, by taking them to

graze on the Govardhana hill. We should also try to serve the cows with

similar attitude - by providing means for their food, shelter and

medication. Our mission is to care for stray, abandoned cows, bulls,

retired oxen, and orphaned calves. We provide them hay, flour, fresh

grass, clean water, medical attention and a place where they can

recuperate from injuries and stay peacefully. But there are thousands of

cattle requiring attention and unless protected, they are destined to

subsist on refuse and become plagued by various debilitating and often

terminal diseases, suffer injury from careless motorists, or worse, be

abducted and transported in very inhumane ways to the growing number

of modern slaughterhouses. Thus there is an urgent need to act.

OUR ACTIVITIES

Helpline: We run a helpline where citizens can call to

inform about sick or stray cows and calves, in the area.

Transportation: In association with volunteers, we

arrange to bring the cattle to the campus.

Care: We care for the stray, ill-nourished and helpless

cows by providing them food, shelter and Medical

facilities.

3) To take help of local people for better facilities running of Goshala.

4) To create everyone among to adopt one cow by one family.

5) To plant about 2000 new trees.

CONSTUCTION OF NEW GOSHALA

The Goshala Committee and cow lovers play an important role in proper

working in Goshala. We would like you to go through the several

reasons behind our purpose for seeking donations for the Gaumata Since

the wave of industrialization in the world; farming has come almost to an

end. Most farmers have diverted towards cash crop and stopped

cultivating fodder crops. So whatever fodder available is highly

expensive and above all to buy a good quality fodder prepared without

the use of chemical fertilizers is like a dream come true. -Also the feed

we provide the cows which comes from cotton mills have raised their

prices. As before, twice a year the prices would come very down when

we were able to stock the feeds for six months together. But today the

price is same all the year round. -The price of milk is the same since 15

years. All the prices have come up but the milk prices are the same as

they were. Even the distilled water is sold on higher price than milk. We

do have high milk yielding cows at the Goshala so we provide maximum

milk to the calf for their best growth and a bright future. So obtaining

milk for income of the Goshala shall be a sin by keeping the calf hungry

as milk is their actual food for at least four months of age. The remaining

milk left by the calf is then taken by us. -Putting up new ideas for

creating income for the Goshala, other than the green fodder cultivation

and the cow urine and Go dung sale shall divert our minds on the another

path, so concentrating on keeping the cows in the best should be the

prime goal.

MISSION AND VISION

Future plans:

Protecting and expanding more cows.

More supply of milk, yogurt and butter.

Maintain healthy cows.

The herd of mother cow of the Goshala is increasing every year with

God’s grace. Also male calves are increasing who also require separate

sheds. Gauseva means serving the mother cow. Indian culture [Sanskrit]

is known as Gausanskriti [A culture related to cows] and therefore cows

have played an important role in each and every pious rituals of India

since centuries and in the future.

How these cows are related to Indian culture?

We have tried to translate some verses from age old Vedas and Puranas

[which have been composed by Gods Themselves and by learned

Rihimunis]. India has always been and will be dependent on these Vedas

and Puranas.

Practices are as follows:

Housing:

1. Construct shed on dry, properly raised ground.

2. Avoid water-logging, marshy and heavy rainfall areas.

3. The walls of the sheds should be 1.5 to 2 meters high.

4. The walls should be plastered to make them damp proof.

5. The roof should be 3-4 meters high.

6. The cattle shed should be well ventilated.

7. The floor should be pucca/hard, even non-slippery impervious, well

sloped (3 cm per meter) and properly drained to remain dry and clean.

8. Provide 0.25 meters broad, pucca drain at the rear of the standing

space.

9. A standing space of 2 x 1.05 meters for each animal is needed.

10. The manger space should be 1.05 meters with front height of 0.5

meters and depth of 0.25 meters.

11. The corners in mangers, troughs, drains and walls should be rounded

for easy cleaning.

12. Provide 5-10 sq. meters loaf space for each animal.

13. Provide proper shade and cool drinking water in summer.

14. In winter keep animals indoor during night and rain.

15. Provide individual bedding daily.

16. Maintain sanitary condition around shed.

17. Control external parasites (ticks, flies etc.) by spraying the pens,

sheds with Malathion or Copper sulphate solution.

18. Drain urine into collection pits and then to the field through irrigation

channels.

19. Dispose of dung and urine properly. A gobar gas plant will be an

ideal way. Where gobar gas plant is not constructed, convert the dung

along with bedding material and other farm wastes into compost.

20. Give adequate space for the animals.

BIO GAS PRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION

Krishna World International plan to produce gas from cow dung andcrude oil. The cow dung can be preserved and transformed into a

biological gas as a useful source of energy for KWI. The left-over excesswe will use for nourishing fertilizer, trees or plants. The idea ofproducing a biological nourishing fertilizer came from a community ofcow-herds. The procedure may be very simple; starting from filling 30kg of cow dung into a 2000 litter capacity earthen jar then mixing it withwater, equivalent to the cow dung amount, and then burying itunderground. They leave it for 25-30 days and by so doing, it will causea chemical reaction. Once the gas is ready, it is transferred through a pipewhich then transfers to cooking stoves into the Krishna WorldInternational's Kitchen for cooking purposes. We plan to fee thousandsof people a day.

This formula, which comes from Jyotisha, or Vedic astrology, uses the nakshatra (birth star) of the founder, the nakshatra of thevillage and the nakshatra of the main Deity of the temple. Thismeasurement is called danda.

The whole space of the temple is defined in multiples andfractions of this basic unit.

The principal shrine should face the rising sun and so should haveits entrance to the east. Movement towards the sanctuary, alongthe east-west axis and through a series of increasingly sacredspaces is of great importance and should be reflected in thearchitecture.

Iron should be used for structuring of temple because iron ismystically the crudest, most impure of metals. The presence ofiron, sthapatis explain, could attract lower, impure forces.

Only gold, silver, and copper are used in the structure, so thatonly the most sublime forces are invoked during the pujas.

A typical temple consists of the following major element:

An entrance, often with a porch One or more attached or detached mandapas or halls The inner sanctum called the garbagriha, literally 'womb

chamber' The tower build directly above the garbagriha

The Vastu - Purusha –Mandala

To determine the auspicious time to begin temple constructionVastu Purusha Mandala has to be placed on the building site, along with astrological calculations and in order to establish, ithas to be first drafted on planning sheets and later drawn upon theearth at the actual building site.

The vastu-purusha - mandala represents the manifest form of theCosmic Being; upon which the temple is built and in whom thetemple rests. The temple is situated in Him, comes from Him, andis a manifestation of Him.

Based on astrological calculations the border of the vastu-purusha-mandala is subdivided into 32 smaller squares called nakshatras. The number 32 geometrically results from a repeated division ofthe border of the single square. It denotes 4 times the 8 th positionsin space: north, east, south, west, and their intermediate points.

The centre of the mandala is called the station of Brahma, thecreator of the universe. Surrounding Brahma are the places oftwelve other entities known as the sons of Aditi, who assist in.
