Prompts is the question posed to the writer in an effort to express an idea or concept.

A thesis is a statement in support of your prompt presenting your finds, research, and sometimes opinion.

Introduction

Introduction paragraphs is: A way of getting your reader

involved with your essay. It should include your thesis

statement, a kind of mini-outline for the paper

It tells the reader what the essay is going to be about.

TRANSITIONS

Transition words : help language flow smoothly when

sequencing events Some examples are first, second,

third, next, them, finally, last.

BODY

The function of the body is to: Fully develop and explain your argument

outlined in your introduction paragraph. Each paragraph elaborates on one major

point and the development of that point. You use textual evidence, facts,

background knowledge and experiences to make your point.

CONCLUSION

The conclusion is the Restating of the main idea or argument,

but in different words. You are basically SUMMING IT UP! A conclusion provides the area of your

paper where you are able to persuade your reader that you know what your talking about, you are familiar with it, and summing up all the information you have given in the introduction and body paragraphs.
