The espriT sToryClass II correction has historically been a n u n co m fo r t a b l e ex p e r i e n ce —fo r clinicians and patients. But with Esprit, it doesn’t have to be that way. Esprit is the Class II corrector that offers you everything your current appliance is missing.

How do we know? Because we asked. And asked. And asked again.

In fact, over the three years we’ve been developing Esprit, we conducted multiple surveys, focus groups, and face-to-face interviews. What we discovered from our research was that when it came to the current choices for Class II correction on the market, there was a lot left to be desired.

The espriT sToryWe identified three areas in particular that were most frustrating for doctors with their current Class II devices:

1. Comfort

2. Durability

3. Ease of placement

So that’s where we began. We knew we needed to create a device that addressed all three areas. A device so advanced that it would give you the confidence of reliable treatment while also giving your patients the smiles they want in a treatment that keeps them comfortable.

Esprit is the answer, finally aligning comfort and strength in Class II correction.

Comfort:Other Class II correctors have an exposed spring, which can lead to painful pinching and rubbing of the cheeks and soft tissue. Also, the distal clip on other correctors can poke and prod, causing unnecessary pain for the patient.

EsprIt provIDEs unsurpAssED Comfort for tHE pAtIEnt In four ImportAnt WAys:1. Its stainless steel spring is enclosed in a small, smooth stainless steel sheath to prevent pinching.

2. Its distal clip has rounded edges to allow for total patient comfort.

3. Its components are CNC machined with smooth, round edges and then mechanically polished for an even smoother result.

4. Its comfortable mesial hook prevents the device from rolling into occlusion.

In fact, the patients involved in Esprit’s clinical trials unanimously chose it over the competition for comfort.

FeaTures and BeneFiTsstrEngtH:Other Class II correctors are too easy to bend, disengage, or break. If a patient so much as bites down wrong, an emergency appointment becomes necessary to install a new device.

EsprIt offErs supErIor DurABIlIty In four ImportAnt WAys:

1. Esprit is manufactured using components that are CNC precision milled from stainless steel. This manufacturing method not only ensures maximum durability, it also ensures unparalleled precision.

2. Each component of Esprit is laser welded together, which means it’s built to withstand even the toughest treatments.

3. The dual-telescoping design provides more strength and prevents binding.

4. Esprit’s stainless steel spring is also extremely durable, expressing more force per millimeter of activation than the leading competitor.

Esprit is so durable that every Esprit device is backed by a 100% durability promise.

EAsE of plACEmEnt:Other Class II correctors require complex measuring and cutting techniques prior to installation or have cumbersome clips. And once installed, they often disengage or break during treatment.

2. The Euclid pin easily bends in only one place and does not require measuring or cutting, making it a breeze to fix to the buccal tube.

regardless of whether your protocol requires the clip version or the pin version, Esprit will provide the ease of placement you’ve been looking for.

FeaTures and BeneFiTsFeatures Benefits

machined body made from heat-treated 17-4 stainless steel smooth for patient comfort. Durable for lasting treatment.

Innovative, patented distal clip design with rounded edges Comfortable for patients. Allows easy, one-handed installation. stays closed for entire treatment. Easy to remove.

Innovative, patented Euclid pin design unlike l-pins, the Euclid pin does not require cutting and will always bend in the same spot for simple, quick installation.

pin hook on distal clip Allows complete control: bend in to restrict lateral movement, bend out to allow more movement.

Enclosed spring design prevents painful pinching and helps keep food out of the appliance.

unique, patented mesial attachment prevents rolling into occlusion. smooth for patient comfort. Easy to remove with no cutting required.

Dual telescoping design (the distal plunger and the push rod both telescope) provides longer range of motion and fewer separations.

open hole at the distal plunger cap prevents bottoming out and allows liquid flow to keep foreign substances from clogging the spring.

laser welding on all major structural components provides strength in every aspect of the device and prevents emergency appointments for broken devices.

Internal stainless steel (316l) spring resists deformation and keeps consistent forces, unlike niti springs that quickly deform and lose force.

Cylindrical design of body, plunger, and push rod Allows free spinning motion, which keeps the product from binding and allows more freedom of movement.

CnC crimpable collars for added activation Collars are easy to install and allow quick reactivation if necessary.

ClInICAl trIAl:During the three years Esprit spent in research and development, it underwent unprecedented clinical testing, including numerous lab tests and clinical trials. Top clinicians such as Dr. Robert Miller, Dr. Richard P. McLaughlin, and Dr. Terry McDonald helped to design the device and tested it in their own clinics. In fact, Esprit underwent the largest clinical evaluation in Opal Orthodontics history.

tECHnICAl DAtA:• Fully loaded force: 160g –180g

• Maximum travel distance: 8.25mm

• Push rod material: 302 stainless steel

• Total number of cycles tested with no breakage: 1.5 million

• Laser weld pull strengths for plunger cap: 65lbs (avg)

componenTsEsprIt ComponEntsthe Esprit device can be broken down into three main components: the distal clip and Euclid pin, the body and plunger, and the push rod with mesial hook.

1. DIstAl ClIp AnD EuClID pIn

Esprit offers two types of distal attachment: the patented clip and the Euclid pin. The clip consists of the clip, two pins, a rotating “horn,” and a hook that can be bent. The Euclid pin is a patented pin that always bends in the same spot and requires no measuring or cutting.

componenTs3. pusH roD WItH mEsIAl Hook

The push rod is designed to prevent binding and contains a welded stop to prevent it from bottoming out. The mesial attachment has rounded edges for complete comfort, and it can be easily removed. Like other features of Esprit, the mesial hook is laser welded to provide outstanding durability. Plus the crimpable end is easy to clamp shut, and the cut angle prevents rolling while also eliminating the need for a comfort bend.

2. BoDy AnD plungEr

The body consists of the inner stainless steel spring, the smooth outer body, the mesial cap, and the distal cap. Both the mesial and distal caps are laser welded onto the body. The plunger consists of the hollow stainless steel telescoping plunger and the plunger cap. The plunger cap is laser welded onto the plunger and contains a hole for either the distal clip or Euclid pin to attach.
