greater satisfaction. I was enormously enriched
by what I learned of my student’s culture.
— volunteer tutor
My tutor helped me understand so much—not
only about English, but also about life in the U.S.
— student (Japan)
If I didn’t have to earn a living, I would be much
happier devoting my entire time to English in
Action.
— volunteer tutor
It is a great organization, giving us the
opportunity to learn English and get
acquainted with American culture.
— student (China)
The relaxed atmosphere and the one-to-one
conversations have helped me greatly. I thank
you for the opportunity you have given me to
improve my English.

Through two-hour weekly meetings with EiA volunteer tutors, students gain self-confidence and skill in understanding and speaking English.
Conversation partners meet in a relaxed, informal setting to practice the language.
EiA does not accept beginners. Students must have at least a basic knowledge of English.
