Grigsby is a professor emeritus of electrical engineering at Auburn University. A fellow of the IEEE, Dr. Grigsby has received numerous honors, including the ASEE AT&T Award for Teaching Excellence, the IEEE Power Engineering Society Out- standing Power Engineering Educator Award, the IEEE Centennial Medal, the Power Engineering Society Meritorious Service Award, and the IEEE Millennium Medal. John D. McDonald, PE, is director of technical strategy and policy development for GE Digital Energy. A fellow of the IEEE, McDonald has received the IEEE Millen- nium Medal, the IEEE PES Excellence in Power Distribution Engineering Award, and the IEEE PES Substations Committee Distinguished Service Award. He has 37 years of experience in the electric utility industry. James H. Harlow, PE, is a principal of Harlow Engineering Associ- ates, a consulting firm to the electric power industry. He previously worked at Siemens (and its predecessor company Allis-Chalmers) and Beckwith Electric. A life-senior member of the IEEE with 34 years of industry experience, Harlow holds six U.S. patents and has managed or conducted groundbreaking projects that blended electronics into power transformer applications.
