Dear Parents and Community Members The St Edward's College Marketing Committee wishes a warm welcome to all old and new students, par-ents, teachers and administrative staff. Two weeks have already passed giving a good kick start to all, head-ing towards promising scholastic year 2011-2012. A brief note on a pressing matter: On behalf of the Marketing Committee, no one has permission to use the College logo or any other related material, without proper authorisation. The use of College logo, images and/or other material without permission will result in serious conse-quences. No one is allowed to create Facebook Groups/Pages or use the name and/or logo, on any media, unless we are informed. All unauthorised publications will have to be deleted or modified accordingly to abide to our regulations. This is part of our new campaign on media coverage. Please help us preserve the correct image of our Col-lege. New Scheme for OEA Memberships/ Contributions
A recent Committee meeting of the Old Edwardians has approved a new scheme whereby all Old Edward-
ians would be able to contribute actively to the Association by opting for one of the two options below:
(a) A donation /contribution of €50 that would ensure membership of the Association for a ten
year period
(b) A donation /contribution of €10 for an annual membership

The Year1 second class reader of the week is entitled ‘The Library’. In order to demon-
strate the reality of the topic, the Year1 class teachers, Miss Caruana and Miss Sullivan,
took the boys to the large Library in the Senior School where they had a look at the nu-
merous books and met the Librarian Ms Sultana.
The teachers explained the way a Library works and how students can borrow books.
Then they used the Oxford Reading Tree Big Book ‘The Library’ to create an interac-
tive lesson on the topic, during which the boys willingly contributed. This was fol-
lowed by a written activity when the boys went back to class.
