Tony Dudley

Chief Financial Officer, Transport Accident Commission

Tony was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Transport Accident

Commission in February 2012 after spending the previous 5 years as the Chief

Financial Officer with the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority.

Prior to this Tony was the Financial Controller for Australia’s largest Private

Health Insurer Medibank Private for well over a decade.

Tony was born in Canberra and in 2002 accepted the opportunity to relocate to

Melbourne with his family to set up the national finance function for Medibank

Private

Tony is the Chair of Residential Independence Proprietary Limited, a wholly

owned subsidiary of the TAC, responsible for the development of state of the art

shared support accommodation. Tony is Finance Director of the Risk

Management Institute of Australasia, Australia’s foremost Risk Management

professional body

Rod Campbell

Research Director, The Australia Institute

Rod has been the Research Director of The Australia Institute for five years. His

research interests include cost benefit analysis, economic modelling, energy &

resources, the Murray Darling Basin and a range of public policy topics. He has

represented the Institute in major court cases, parliamentary inquiries, planning

hearings and is often in the media. Rod studied and worked at Melbourne

University, Kyoto University (Japan) and Gansu Agricultural University (China).

Professor Terry Nolan AO

Head of Melbourne School of Population and Global

Health, University of Melbourne

Terry Nolan AO FAHMS is Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor and Chair of

Population Health at the University of Melbourne, and Foundation Head of the

Melbourne School of Population and Global Health. He trained in medical

science and in medicine at the University of Western Australia, as a paediatric

physician at Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and Montréal Children’s

Hospital and completed a PhD in epidemiology and biostatistics at McGill

University.

He leads VIRGo (the Vaccine and Immunisation Research Group), a

collaboration between Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and the University

of Melbourne.

He was a member since the mid-1990s of the Australian Government’s advisory

bodies on immunisation policy and practice, including the Australian Technical

Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI), which he chaired from 2005 until

2014. He was a member of the WHO peak advisory body on global vaccination

policy, the Scientific Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE).

His research has been predominantly in vaccine preventable disease, including

epidemiologic studies and clinical trials of new vaccines.

Professor Rosemary Calder AM

Director, Australian Health Policy Collaboration and

Professor of Health Policy, Mitchell Institute, Victoria

University

Rosemary Calder is a respected health and social policy expert. She has held

positions as a senior executive in health policy and administration in both State

and Commonwealth Departments of Health and was head of the Office for the

Status of Women in the Commonwealth Department of Prime Minister and

Cabinet from 2000 to 2003. Rosemary has also served as Chief of Staff to a

Victorian Minister for Health.

Rosemary leads the Australian Health Policy Collaboration at Victoria University,

a national collaboration of public health experts, clinicians and organisations,

aimed at evidence-based policy leadership to reduce preventable chronic

diseases in the Australian population.

Rosemary has also worked extensively in and with non-government

organisations in health and social issues. She is a sociologist and began her

career as a journalist in print and broadcast media.

David Herd

Director, Market Access and CGA, Australia and Head

of Communications and Government Affairs,

Intercontinental, GSK

David Herd has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 30 years, during

a period which has seen the industry environment significantly change. David

has been at the forefront of helping GSK to adjust to these changes, including

earlier in his career helping to shape and establish an internal regulatory

infrastructure within Central Eastern Europe and overseeing change

management in the Regulatory Affairs service arena.

Within GSK, David provides Communication, Government Affairs and Health

technology leadership and environmental strategic advice to all businesses

within the GSK family, including Pharmaceuticals, Vaccines and the subsidiary

of GSK, ViiV Healthcare Environment, the Company’s HIV medicines supplier,

across several markets, including Australia.

Externally, David has represented Medicines Australia in a variety of committees

and negotiations in helping to shape the future market access and government

policy environment. David currently serves as an industry member on the

Medicines Australia (MA) – Advisory Council and the Industry-Government

Access to Medicines Working Group.

In addition, David serves on the Boards of the BioMelbourne Network and the

Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences - Medicines Manufacturing

Innovation Centre Advisory Group.
