The Ear

From my perspective, modelling an ear or most body parts seemed quite complicated so I began by just following the tutorial on Blackboard before searching online, hoping for a simpler Tutorial in video form, most video tutorials actually required the same level of focus without any shortcuts so I was better off just using the method provided.

Positives - The thing I enjoyed the most about making the ear was learning how to model from scratch. Adding the Edge Loops was a concern of mine because the more I added, the more complicated the shape would become. Having too many edge loops is always a concern of mine, I never know if I have too many. I had a few experiences with making new faces which will come in handy for sure in future projects.Creating the ear was the first real time I used the reference image accurately, the only downside is that I didn’t have a profile reference image, I only had the front.

Negatives -The ear was an interesting task, although I found the youtube video online quite useless due to them being no different to the set tutorial on Blackboard. I should have just stayed with the PDF tutorial instead of looking for a way around it, I ended up wasting so much time. I stopped adding to the ear model soon after our teacher told us that it wasn’t mandatory.
