WHAT IS DUKE PALM FUND?

Duke Palm Fund is an investment vehicle owned by Duke Farms. Duke Farms is a registered business in Palm Tree plantation development, Palm Fruits processing into Palm Oil, Palm Kernel Oil, Palm Kernel Cake and other derivatives.

Duke Farms has been in existence since 2016. Duke Farm is 100 percent owned by Index Managers, an advisory firm focused on accounting, finance and investment for small and medium enterprises.

The objectives of the fund include giving opportunity to the investing public who have special interest in the palm oil industry to have the opportunity to invest in it. The fund also welcomes other investors who are also seeking a good haven to put their savings for a good return.

Subscribers to this fund will also be given first priority to buy equities of the farm when it is eventually floated.

Duke Palm Fund is considered a hedged fund as it would be invested in a business that is considered to have inherent risk more than investing in our day to day investment options or the popular mutual funds. Also, the minimum holding tenor for Duke Palm Fund is one year.

Considering the characteristics, the fund is also offering a return which will compensate for the risk you are taking as an investor.

Funds pooled by Duke Palm Fund will be entirely invested in assets to be owned by Duke Farms. Investors are assured that the fund will be managed by professionals, with vast experience in the industry. Those who understand the risk inherent and how to mitigate and/or manage them.

To ensure the fund’s risk is adequately managed, the utilization of the fund will be allocated as detailed below to achieve diversification;

• 40 % of the fund will be invested in developing new Palm plantation fields.

• 20 percent of the fund will be invested in Biological Assets (Palm Tree) nurturing and development.

• 40 percent of the fund will be invested in Palm Fruit processing and Trading.

Duke Palm Fund has the following listed parties and details

Fund Secretariat: 5, University Crescent, Oba Olateru OlagbegiEstate, Oshuntokun, Bodija, Ibadan and representative office at 235 Muri Okunola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Duke Fund Custodian & Administrator:Duke Farms shall hold and utilize the fund according to the fund mandate. The fund shall be audited annually in line with its mandate and report shall be made available to all fund holders.

Fund Under writer:Index Managers shall underwrite to fund to provide liquidity for fund holders who want to exit the fund before its maturity. This shall only be available to funds that have been held for a minimum period of 6 months.

Fund Insurer:This will be communicated as soon as the fund managers decided on the best fit for the fund. It is the interest of the fund managers to provide comfort to investors for the credit risk inherent in investing in Duke Palm Fund. Investors shall elect for this as it is not automatic. This coverage is only available for investor who are willing to go or a minimum period of 12 months.
