Whenever you open an existing project or create a new project, you will see the Project Safety Record HOME PAGEProject Safety Record HOME PAGE. This screen provides you with links to each of the software modules and information associated with a particular project.

By entering the Project Title and No. on the Home Page, it is automatically transferred to each of the other modules. To access the project data, simply click on the relevant button on the left hand side of the screen.

The first module is that of the Design Safety StatementDesign Safety Statement, this should be prepared at the start of a project (and updated as necessary) and is used to specify any key information such as the general design criteria and parameters. It can also be used to record details of any existing information that is relevant to the project and which may restrict the design or generate specific hazards.

Another key element is that of the Design Risk Design Risk AssessmentAssessment (DRA) module. This assists designers to identify hazards and those affected, whilst also enabling a rapid assessment of the risk to be carried out. This module also enables the actions taken during the design and any additional control measures to be recorded. Each assessment is carried out on a separate page and there is no limit to the number of assessments which can be completed.

To enable the effective transfer of information between the designer and others such as the CDM Co-ordinator, Principal Contractor and other designers, information such as the DRA’s can be printed off as shown here, or alternatively it can be exchanged electronically as Adobe Acrobat Files (PDF) or Microsoft Document Imaging Format.
