1st GENERATION

WILLIAM BACON, son of Sir James Bacon*, lived in Northumberland County, Virginia. By a will dated 1660 he devised all of his property to wife Ann.l

Children: William and Ann Bacon

2 Captain Edraund Bacon of New Kent

*There would appear to be some question as to the ancestry of William Bacon as well as the fact of Capt. Edmund Bacon being his son. This ancestry has been accepted by a great many descendants; however, more proof would be welcome.

2nd GENERATION

CAPTAIN EDMUND BACON, son of William and Ann Bacon, was bom in 1641, On 21 October l687i Captain Edmund Bacon patented 443 acres in New Kent County, Virginia on Pamunkey River next below North Wales Divident; for transportation of five persons, viz.: Thomas Bacon, Anne Lyddall, Katherine Davis, Nathaniel Smith and George Pargeter. He was a sheriff of New Kent County and a vestryman of St. Peter*s Parish. Capt. Edmund married Anne Lyddall who was a daughter of Maj. George Lyddall.

3rd GENERATION

JOHN BACON, son of Captain Edmund and Anne Lyddall Bacon, was born in New Kent County, Virginia. He married first to

Sarath Langston who died on 4 January 1709/10. He married a second time to Susanna Parke.

John Bacon, John Parke and Nathl. Bacon are witnesses to a deed from Francis ~(X)-- Wilkinson, of New Kent Co. to John Law of Henrico. Mch. 5, 1729, D.W.B. 1725-37, p. 832.

John Bacon, Patent, 243 Acres in ye upper part of New Kent Co., next below North Wales Divident. This land formerly granted to Capt. Edmund Bacon, Oct. 21, 1687, and by him deserted and since granted to John Bacon by order of the General Court Oct. 17, 1701, and further due unto John Bacon for the importation of six persons. April 25, 1703 (9, p. 445).

John Bacon of New Kent Co., Patent, 1600 acres in Henrico Co., beginning on Ufuam Brook at the corner of said Bacon's land and that of John Watson, thence down the Brook according to its meanderings to the mouth of it, where it falls into Ghickahominey Swamp or River, thence up the main river or swamp to a corner beach pointing the land of Thomas Owen and the said Bacon, thence south west and by east crossing several branches seven hundred and eighteen poles to the place begun at. One thousand and thirty six acres and five poles part thereof was formerly granted in the name of Francis Izard by patent bearing date the 23 April 1681. The other 563 acres and 155 Poles is surplus land found within the bounds of the said patent. Oct. 13, 1727 (13, p. 283).

John Bacon, of New Kent Co., Pays 172 lbs. Tobacco for the taking of his runaway negro man Peter. Nov. 28, 1740, O.B. 1737-46. p. 128.

John Bacon's deed to his son Nathaniel is proved by the oaths of James Hill and George Wilkinson two of the witnesses 1 thereto and ordered to be recorded. Oct 4, 1742, Ibid. p. 195.

He married Susannah Parke, dau of John Parke on 4 July 1710.

9 Lyddall Bacon was bom in Lunenburg Co. in 1717 10 Edmund Bacon was bom on 8 April 1722 11 Ann Bacon was bom on 29 October 1727 1 12 Fanny Bacon was born on 5 February 1734

SARAH BACON, daughter of Captain Edmund and Anne Lyddall Bacon, was bom about 1691 in New Kent County, Virginia and died after 1756. She married Samuel Bugg who was bom in 1690 in New Kent ? County, Virginia and died after April 1759 in Lunenburg Co., VA.

4th GENERATION

NATHANIEL BACON, son of John and Sarah Langston Bacon, was bom about 1708-9, The date of his death is unknown; however, his will wa dated 1743. He married Mary Elizabeth Thompson.

John Bacon's deed to his son Nathaniel is proved by the oaths of James Hill and George Wilkinson two of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded, Oct. 4, 1742,

22 Nathaniel Bacon 23 Lyddall Bacon 24 Langston Bacon 25 Ludwell Bacon. There was a Ludwell Bacon in Henrico

County in July, 1743, and in Brunswick County, Oct, 1744.

WILLIAM BACON, Son of John and Sarah Langston Bacon, of Henrico County, Virginia. In September, 1749, he patented 254 acres in Henrico County adjoining lands of said Bacon, Lacy, Smith and Watson. In March, 1770, William Bacon deeded to Thomas Wilkinson land in Henrico which had been given said William Bacon by the will of His father, John Bacon, of New Kent County. He was living in Henrico County as late as July, 1788.

26 Burwell Bacon

JOHN BACON, son of John and Susanna Parke Bacon, was born on 4 May 1711- He moved to Lunenburg County, where he died in 1759• He married first, Anne (surname unknown); second, Frances (surname unknown). (Cumberland Parish, Lunenburg Co., Va. 1746-1816).

Son-in-law Benjamin Estis, husband of testator's daughter Frances. Executors — his wife Frances Bacon, William Bacon, and testator's brother Lyddall Bacon. Witnesses — C. Courtney, Gressett Bacon. Frances Bacon the above named Executrix qualified as such with George Elliot, Lyddall Bacon, and John Ragsdale securities. Probated — July 3, 1759- Will dated Oct 20. 1758.
